Otis is a sweetheart

I know I keep saying this ... but Otis is just such a lovebug.  These past
few days while I've been shivering away with my fever, Otis has been curled
up tight the whole time.  He'll give up most things just to have a cuddle in
bed.  He has spent all day and all night keeping me company.

I was missing him when he'd gone for a snack so I called him.  Like magic he
appeared and jumped back into bed.  I love the fact that he always comes
when he's called.

Chester, OTOH, scares me silly in the winter.  No matter how cold it is, he
likes to slip out for a minute or two of fresh air.  I'm always scared that
he's dashed out when someone has opened the door and that's he's freezing to
death outside.  Because he doesn't come when called, I then have to search
every nook and cranny of the house to find him before bed.  He's generally
in but I just don't want to risk it.

Anyway - I just find it amazing that Otis is such a bottomless pit for
affection and that he likes to snuggle so much.  It makes all his trouble
worthwhile :D

I'd be scared of freezing Chester to death outside too.  Betty is in
between Otis and Chester when it comes to coming when called.  She'll
almost always come when I call her name, but she makes an exception if
she's at at of her designated ambush posts, like under the coffee
table.  Then, her guard duty supercedes being called. :)

It also sounds as though Otis is settling down a bit.

A sense of humour is always fun in a cat :D

Well, I took a trip down memory lane tonight and re-read some of Otis' old
stories.  It sure seems that he has calmed down!

I'm so glad Otis is being such a great nurse to you. I hope you are
feeling much better now, Susan.
Soncek almost never comes when I call him so he has got me worried a
few times when I could not find him.
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek

So sweet! Mine mostly come when called, but of course it depends on
what they're doing.  :)
