I need to get to WalMart somehow and buy cards and then somehow get to the post office for stamps. How ironic is > THAT? > > kili Some alternators have the voltage regulator built in, in some cases you have a voltage regulator apart from the alternator. Sure sounds like a bad regulator. That would allow the alternator to put out too much voltage which can burn out headlights in no time. FYI, it's not possible to overcharge a battery in the way your hubby suspects - a 12 volt battery won't put out much more than 12 volts, no matter what you pump into it. An alternator, though, can run pretty hot (high output voltage) if it isn't regulated properly. This is amazing. All I can say for Discount Auto is..........next! D*mn! Hopefully it will be paid off before DS1 starts school!! |
