Reasons why kittens are so cute....

I have figured that the main reasons kittens (i.e. Lilly Whiskers) are
so cute, is so that

1. You don't kill them after they've tried to kill you by gassing out
your study by using the litter box.

2. You don't kill them after they've peed on your bed.

3. You don't kill them when they climb up the curtains and scream for
mommy to get them down when they're stuck, resulting in mommy getting a
ladder up the stairs, banging and chipping the paint work on the wall,
and breaking the curtain rail as you try to rescue said kitten...

4. You don't kill them when they fall head first into the sink full of
dirty washing up water, jump out and splatter dirty water all over the
clean kitchen surfaces.

5. You don't murder them when they chase the "big cat" (HRFL) through
the kitchen, and make him knock mommy so that her coffee goes all over
the new rug when she trips over him.

6. You don't kill them when they pull the plant over and get soil
everywhere because they were trying to hang off the leaves....

Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon that Lilly is so *happy*, but
sheesh, it's like she's taken the hoolikitten handbook, read it from
cover to cover and then invented some new ideas!!!

PS, My Dad always had similar reasons why kids are cute. ;)

For every 1 of your reasons, I have determined to never have a kitten again!
(Although they are cute!)

LOL! This should have been called "you don't kill them when ..."
;)

I have to add some:

You don't kill them when they learn from their brother that
knocking stuff off of high shelves and watching it fall to the
floor is fun.

You don't kill them when they've discovered that it's more fun to
drink water off of their (her!!) paw and spill water everywhere in
the process.

You don't kill them when they start to get finicky about food, and
you've just bought a case of what they've been eating for the last
3 months, and now they won't touch it.  New foods start getting the
same reaction.  But you keep hunting out the perfect food because
you can't bear to watch them "starve to death".

you don't kill them when they hide under the bed all day pretending to be
shy, then play kitten races (or elephant races...I never knew siamese could
be so heavy) over the bed ALL NIGHT!!

ad. you know you have converted your d person lover DH and self professed
cat hater into a cat lover when he doesn't kick the kitten that's pouncing
on him at 2am (continuosly) when he has work the next day....looks like he
is hooked on siamese :^)

She must be in contact with Bev's Bonnie.  Or an old soul.  She couldn't
invent all this stuff herself in one lifetime.

And as Sarrasine did for a finale...Just as you drag the heavy ladder
in position jumps down with no problem

So, so true!  With Jack and Kate in here, I have truly come to
appreciate the meaning of "hoolikitten".  Anyone got some kitten
valium?  ;-)

Funny, Oscar's not a kitten anymore, but she pulled one of her
hoolikitten tricks last night.

She was up in her cat tree.  I would toss her a toy, she would catch
it, I would take it back, rinse, repeat.

Well, in scrabbling to catch the toy, she somehow got a claw caught in
the underside of the next level of the tree.  Oh boy.  She was pulling
and crying and obviously distraught.  But naturally she gets quite
upset when I (very gently, mind you) take her arm and help her get
unstuck.  Lots of hissing and swatting and scratching and biting.
Sigh.  That's the thanks I get for rescuing her.

If I just left her alone, would she figure out how to get unstuck?  Or
would she hurt herself?  I guess I'll never know, since I can't bear
to watch her struggling like that.
