Senyah went off to church, while I slept in / did the laundry / did a
few chores, etc. One of the things Dulce Mae likes to do on Sunday, is
to go outside, when Senyah leaves in the morning.
I get up to check on the laundry, and while I'm up, I go outside to
look for Dulce Mae.
I wander out to the sidewalk and look around. I call her name. *Just*
out of the corner of my eye, I see something just back and to the
right of me.
Dulce Mae is shadowing me. I turn just a little in her direction -
just enough that I can see her, but not so much that she can tell I
see her.
I look out towards the north, and call "Dulce Mae!" Dulce Mae looks
off to the north and meows.
I look off to the south and call her again. Dulce Mae looks off to the
south and meows.
I take a couple of steps forward, and call her, and she does the same.
It is becoming obvious that she is playing head games with me...
Slowly, I turn around, pretrend to be just now seeing her, and I say
"Oh, there you are!" I pick her up and cuddle her. I hear a nice
delicate girl-kitty purr.
We go back inside, and she tells me about her fun.
I think there might be just a touch of Siamese in my black-furred
girl.
So I change clothes from one machine to another, and lay on the bed to
read the paper. As is usual, I separate out the parts I want to read
from the parts I don't want to read. I make two stacks.
As I start laying out the parts I don't want, Dulce Mae selects two
sections as her placemat, and reclines as befits the princess that she
is.
I finally gather all the sections I don't want, and put them back into
the plastic grocery bag. Little Feet comes in and selects the plastic
bag as his mattress.
Finally, I finish the funnies, and we all lie back for a snooze. Dulce
Mae is stretched out, and has draped a langorous paw across my ankles.
Little Feet is curled up in the bend of one arm. It is a very nice
nap.
At suppertime, I'm laying out steaks for seasoning. Dulce Mae is lying
on the counter, a few inches away, and wrinkles her nose at the
seasonings. Buster, seeing that I'm fixing dinner, runs and jumps in
Senyah's lap, knowing he can bully her into sharing (grin). Senyah was
just getting up to go to the bathroom, so Buster is moved against his
will.
Finally, I have submitted a picture of my dad's cat to the 365 Kittens
a Year contest at Workman Publishing. Too late for 2006, but maybe
it'll get selected for 2007. Lucy is here:

Lucy is beautiful. She looks like Tyche, but in solids instead of
stripes.

What a really lovely way to spend sunday. Lucy is just
gorgeous...beautiful markings. I love her calm, open face.

Scary. Cute, but scary. :)

It sounds like the two of you deserve each other. :)

That sounds really sweet. I love taking naps with kitties! (As long as
they don't - oof - sleep *on* me, that is.)

She's gorgeous! I think I've seen those pics before, but she's worth
looking at again. I hope she makes it into the calendar for '07.
