All this week I've been fighting off chest congestion and headache, and
felt really lousy Thursday. I spent just about all day in bed, not getting
up for any length of time until about 3:00 Pm.

Getting out of bed just maed my headache worse - it felt like my head was
going to explode. I sat on the couch holding my head, and after a couple
of minutes I felt a cold, wet nose against my leg. Little Harri girl was
coming up and giving me the signal that she wanted to snuggle.

Harri climbed up in my lap and stretched out along my arm, just like she
used to do in the truck. She relaxed and made herself at home, and purred
up a storm. What was astounding to me is that as long as she was purring,
my headache went away! Harri spent an hour and a half relaxing in my arms
and purring up a storm, and as long as she kept purring my headache stayed
away.

After an hour and a half or so I went back to bed. As soon as I put Harri
down the headache returned. It moderated a bit when Ranger curled up on my
pillow beside my head, but nothing worked as well as Harri's purrs.

I've always known that kitty purrs are magical, but now I have first-hand
experience that says so!

Animals have a natural factor to cure the ills of life.  A purr or bark can
change the world

I am sure this is true.  Stinky has purred away many headaches of
mine.  Having a little purring buddy beside you is so relaxing.  I
know he helped me let go a lot of tension that was exacerbating the
headache.

OTOH, there were times when he made me late for work, because he
jumped in my lap and started purring when it was time for me to get up
and go. ;)  I have been known to fall asleep like a ton of bricks when
Stinky gets in my lap and revs up his motor.

I have that same problem with Lucy!!!  I get up pretty early, tidy the
bed, take my meds and give Lucy hers, and then we sit in my comfy
green chair and cuddle for awhile.  Our nickname for Lucy, (well one
of them ;) is "The MotorBoat" and I, too, find it incredibly relaxing.
More than once I've started awake, looked out the window and thought
to myself "Why's the sun so high?"  Dumb question, I know..<grin>

I am sure that is true.  Having a little purring buddy beside you is
very relaxing.

Hope you will feel better today, Dan.  There are some particularly potent
purrers and I guess Harri is one of them!  What a good girl!

I'm sorry you didn't feel well.  I've had a cold that feels similar all week
so extra sympathy from here.

But I'm happy for my darling Harri.  Bet she loved having Pop all to herself
for a few hours just like the good old days.  And without even having to
leave home.

Awww, you saved Harri's life when she was so very ill, and now that you

Lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for you to be healthy again
