PURR CHAIN FOR BETTY

When a church member is scheduled for chemotherapy, surgery, or such we
start a prayer chain, more-or-less synchronizing in real time with the
procedure.

Can we sort of organize a collective purr chain for Betty on Thursday?
Sending purrs, prayers, or just good wishes her way. I believe in the
power of this. If everyone could just stop what they are doing, and
send some positive thoughts.

I'll have to leave it to someone a little more time-zone-savvy than I
am to co-ordinate a time.

Is anyone interested?

God knows no time zones, Sherry. Nor does whomever or
whatever else might act on "good wishes" etc. Makes sense,
doesn't it?

Very much sense.  We'll all be purring and purr-aying as hard as we can for
Tak's little Betty - from now on!

I am. Can we find out the time when she is having her treatment so that
those who can at the time can do their best at the time she is being
treated? Of course purrs, and whatnot can be offered at any time.

All the best to little  Betty.

I'm supposed to bring her in Thursday morning, that is about 32 hours
from now, at 9:00 EST.  They should put her on the drip fairly shortly
after that, since the therapy lasts 6 hours, and it needs to be during
their business hours.

Then we will start purring and sending good vibes Betty's way at 4 pm
Finnish time on Thursday (2 pm in the UK).

Same here, from us here in London directly to Betty.
FWIW, I would be trying this new treatment too, if it was one of mine in
Betty's position.

9 AM EST is when I'm arriving at work. So I'll have to get Captain and
Stanley to run the purr motors in advance of the treatment, prior to my
leaving for work. Then when I arrive at work, I'll say some prayers that
all goes well and the treatment succeeds.

And ditto... if I was facing this situation, I'd want to try this
treatment, too. May Betty be one of the cats who sees the maximum benefit
from it.

In that case it's 3am on Friday morning in eastern Australia (not Qld,
where it is 2am).  I'm quite often awake at that time and Persephone
is too, so we'll be purring and thinking of you both.

That'll make it midnight Purrth time, and my bunch will probably be
purring me off to sleep around then, especially my Vi who looks a lot
like Betty. We'll try to get a good synchronised rumble going.
Yowie - 16 Nov 2005 21:03 GMT
Its unlikely (although not impossible) we'll be purring at 3am for the start
of the therapy, but for the last two, and maybe last three hours of the
procedure (depending on when the Yowlet wakes up) we'll be with joining with
everyone else to purr for Betty.

I'm lucky.  I can pray the whole time from 2 pm to 8 pm GMT.  And I shall
do.  There are some cats on the group that I have come to almost love, even
though I don't know them.  Betty is one of them. Stinky is another, and
there are more, of course.

Dual purrs will commence from the west coast at 0600 Thursday.

That's good, to give her even the smallest chance.  If only pure,
unadulterated love could turn things around for Betty, it is being
sent in her direction from places all over the globe.  We all love
her.  We care.

I will be thinking of Betty, too, and sending her good thoughts.  My
cat recently had less than a 10 percent chance of survival from a
condition she developed and it is now over 6 months later and she seems
totally back to normal.  There is always hope.

Church member? Doesn't make any difference to me. I'm not a religious man,
and I think all people are entitled to the same amount of purrs and good,
healing thoughts, no matter whether they are church members or not.

I have been through the same treatment myself, about 25 years ago, and I am
sure that the good thoughts from friends and relatives got me through it.

Purrs from my cats, and healing thoughts from myself are on their way!

Best wishes,
Hans

We are purring very, very hard for Tak and Betty.  Our Tallulah has
always made me think of Betty, sweet-natured ladycats who have found
their foreverhomes after a rough patch.  We have all our appendages
crossed in hopes that this treatment will be effective.
