We're under a severe t'storm warning and tornado watch until 1:00 AM
Central. I went out to look at the sky. It's very still, but I see wall
clouds in all directions, and I'm worried. It's too late at night to disturb
neighbors who have basements.

If your neighbors are sleeping, they probably don't know about the tornado
warning.   Awakening them could be good for both of you.  Best wishes.

I called some folks who live underground and went over. Got there just in
time for the worst of the storm. At around 10:30 we had to hide in the
hallway for a while as a tornado had been seen nearby. The storm moved off
to the east quickly and I came home to find the house still standing. All is
well, for now.

Glad all was well... so far as I'm concerned it's never too late at
night to seek shelter from an incipient natural disaster... your
neighbours or friends would probably rather you woke them up knocking
on the door, than that you stayed in your home and got blown away!
