(Don't tell Persia!) I'm taking her to the smelly place on Thursday morning
and making (for me) a drive across the bridge (no, not the Rainbow Bridge,
relax!) to meet up with my LLL. He needs a break from dealing with his
elderly mother, I need a break from my parents harrassing me. We're going
to take a mini-vacation and just do nothing for 4 days :)
Don't worry if you don't hear from me after Thursday morning through the
weekend.

Have fun and forget parents for the weekend. Elderly parents can be a
real pain in the tush sometimes, especially when they still consider
you their "little girl".

I wish I had the chance to do that sort of nothing again ;)

Have a wonderful mini-vacation. Sometimes those are the best kind.

It definitely sounds like you both need it! I hope you and 3L have a
fun time.
It is hard leaving them. Coincidentally, I also needed to go out of
town for four days, and today's the first day (writing this from a
hotel right now). When I brought out the carrier, Betty jumped on the
bed and stuck her face against the covers. I sat down next to her and
talked to her. Every now and then, she would pull her head away from
the covers, turn and look at me and say "Meow!" Then, she would
immediately stick her face back in the covers again.

Enjoy your well deserved break.
And don't tell my clowder that I'm going to Ontario after Yule...
