Wrooming

Marina - 07 Nov 2005 13:46 GMT Sometimes, Mianda and Caliban don't seem to be quite sure what they're doing, grooming each oher or wrestling. They will lick each othewr a few times, then bunny-kick each other in the head, then lick each other, then go back to kicking. I call this wrooming:

You could say it's grestling, too, of course. ;o)

> You could say it's grestling, too, of course. ;o) Heh, yeah, I'd call it grestling (or groostling?) around my house, since it always starts with Grizzly and Buck vigourously cleaning each other's chops. Then either somebody gets knocked over and a tussle begins or a series of high-speed chases ensues with scattered breaks for wrestling.

Frank seems to enjoy a good nap. Purrs for their wellbeing. MLB
Bridget - 07 Nov 2005 19:55 GMT Reminds me of when the Stripey Thing was a kitten. He would go to groom Tony. Seemed like the gentlemanly thing to be doing. He would get in one lick on the cheek, another across the forhead, another back on the cheek and then he would bite Tony's ear. He could never make it past three licks before he bit Tony's ear. Tony bore it all so well. Now the two of them are cuddle bugs of magnanimous proportions. The Stripey Thing would never think of biting Tony's sweet little ear. They just lay there and groom each other for hours. Then they fall asleep in each others arms.

I often wonder if some of the agressive cats we hear about on this group are just using normal rough play cat antics on siblings that don't appreciate it.
Fur literally flies when Jake and Molly get going, but they both keep going back for more. And no one seems to get injured more than the little pinholes they leave all over me too.

Susan M - 08 Nov 2005 04:37 GMT We call this competitive grooming in our household :-)
Great pics - I'm fascinated by how different they look from each other - the shiny silky grey and the gorgeous stripey Caliban. I can't ever imagine him looking anything but a little goofy with those long white socks. Gorgeous!
Do they ever groom Unka Frank?

Everything is long and thin on Miranda, including her face, and everything is short and stocky on Caliban, including his square face. They're like the epitome of feminine and masculine.
> Do they ever groom Unka Frank? It's more the case of Unka Frank grooming them. Caliban never grooms Frank back, Miranda sometimes gives a few licks. Caliban does groom me, though. Apparently, my face needs a thorough wash every now and then. Filthy hoomin! ;ö)

They made you a genius.

LMHO!!!
Captain and Stanley's version of wrooming is more like a grooming competition.
"I'm grooming your head now". Groom, groom, groom. "No, *I'M* grooming *your* head!" [shifts position to reach brother's head] Groom. Groom. Groom. "Oh, no you don't! *I* am grooming YOUR head!". [shifts position] Groom! Groom! Gr... "I SAID I'M GROOMING YOUR HEAD AND I AM!" [shifts position] GROOM!! GROOM!! "Hey, hold still, I wasn't done grooming your head! [Grab, pin-down] GROOM GROOM GROOM "Let go of me, I'm grooming you!" Swat! "Swat me, will you?" BAP! "There, you moved, now I can groom you." GROOM GROOM GROOM! Bop! Thud! Tussle! Groom! Whack! ..etc, etc.
I'm not sure how they determine a winner in the sport of Competitive Grooming, but boy do these hoolikittens like to play that game! ;o)
