Otis went back to TED for his last long-lasting antibioitic shot after his
teeth cleaning and they took a look at his leg where the IV had been. They
decided to re-bandage it because he's been worrying it so much and TED was
concerned that Otis would break it open and it would take weeks to heal.
Otis is very unhappy. He didn't sleep with me last night and chose the end
of the bed with Chester instead. When I picked him up next to me, he
wouldn't stay. He's not purring. He won't sit in my lap. He sits with a
hangdog look and far away in odd corners. He sat in the bathroom last night
for an hour. He sat accross the room in the bedroom all morning. He's not
eating very much. HE'S NOT PURRING. He's got *such* purr motor usually.
He's *such* an affectionate lap fungus that its really bothering me. He
finally talked this morning. A couple of yowly meows. There's nothing
obviously wrong with him at all. The bandage doesn't seem to be too tight,
his eyes look fine, and he's not limping. I wonder if he just has a tummy
ache from the antibiotics?
If he's not more cheerful by Monday, I'll move up the TED appointment from
Tuesday and make sure he's okay.

I know how you feel-- the most upsetting thing is when their
personality seems to be affected. Purrs for a perkier Otis.

Awww. Poor Otis. He is such a complex creature. I know what you
mean about the not purring. When I pick up Betty to put her in the
carrier, her silence is just eerie.

They certainly might make him feel lousy. Just having his leg wrapped
might account for it too. I sure hope he gets to feeling better soon.
