Where did you say you order your inhaled meds from?
Julie Cook - 25 Oct 2005 20:11 GMT
Not Wayne, but I get Sam's Flovent from Medisave in Canada.

I've had a lot of success with this company and the meds generally get
to me within a week. I bought two canisters the last time I ordered and
paid around $160.00 which included shipping.

Great! THanks. Much cheaper than getting it locally!! I mean a LOT. Is there
120 doses in a canister? It says Qty 12 on it but I'm guessing that is not
how many puffs are in it. The chart on aerokat says 120 for the 110 mcg?

Standard protocol is two puffs of 220 mcg, twice daily which is what I
buy. It does have 120 puffs in the canister and I would think that is
what is in the 110 mcg as well.  You'll want to keep a chart of the
dosage administered so that you can use all of the drug in the canister.
I can send you a copy of the chart I use and there is probably a chart
on Fritz The Brave website as well.  It is suspected that as the doses
decrease the effectiveness of the drug decreases as well and a lot of
people begin giving half the daily dose from the old canister and half
from a new canister to insure that they are giving enough drug. (I'm not
that organized). It is a cheaper from Canada! It costs me $150/canister
to buy it from a local pharmacy.  I've only bought one canister of the
Albuterol (which has 220 doses, I believe) and that was $45.00 from a
local pharmacy. I haven't needed to purchase that again so I'm not sure
what the cost for Albuterol is from Canada.

I've been ordering from PetPharm http://www.petpharm.org/ .
They're not the cheapest out there, but I've liked the way they
handle things.  My vet faxes the original order and a copy of
the prescription, and the meds are shipped directly to me and
charged to my credit card.  Refills can be ordered on the web
site.
