It's turkey season here in Missouri and many of the locals turkeys are
taking refuge here on the farm. A few minutes ago, I heard MUCH clucking out
back, and looked out the window to see what was going on. Billy was standing
in the midst of ten hens, with his tail all fluffed out, his back arched and
eyes very wide!

Gawd, if only Gloria's camcorder with the zoom lens was here right now, I
would have had the $100k winner on the America's Funniest Home Videos show,
without a doubt! I did go out with the digital camera but by the time I got
around to the backyard, I'd frightened off the hens.

Well at least I got a huge laugh out of watching it!

Poor Billy!  It's so disconcerting when your prey doesn't know enough
to be scared of you! ;)

Boots chases the turkeys. So far they run from her, so she is quite
pleased with herself about that.
DH says we need to get her a bantam rooster. He'd draw a line in the
dirt and say "Come on."

He is very brave.  Wild turkeys around here look quite large.  They
probably bigger and tougher than a cat.  At one office park where I
worked, a wild turkey attacked its own reflection in an office window,
cracking it.
