Ranger and the grey snake

For the longest time I've been graced with two kitties (Amelia and
Tabitha) who love to wait in the bathroom while I shower, then hop onto my
shoulders and groom my hair while I brush my teeth. Recently the list of
shower-shouldering kitties has grown - now Harri Roadcat and Ranger want
to get in on the action as well. It's not at all uncommon for me to have
one kitty jump onto my shoulders while I brush my teeth, put that kitty
down, have a second jump up while I put out their soft food, put that
kitty down, then have a third shoulder-rider while I finish getting
dressed.

This morning, though, Ranger ran into a bit of a problem. While he was
riding my shoulders he discovered a furry grey snake following him. It
appeared that he had never noticed this snake before. He was trying to
balance on my shoulders while spinning in a circle trying to catch it, but
he had an awful time since it kept getting away from him.

I finally convinced him to jump off my shoulder and relax, and when I
started petting his lovely long tail he finally realized that the grey
snake was attached to his butt and was therefore nothing to worry about.

I sometimes worry about that little boycat.

They do seem to forget those things are attached to them, don't they?

ROTFL!

Dear Pericles as a lad ignored his huge long fluffy tail (despite its
considerable presence) until the day he dipped it into my bathwater
while supervising my cleaning regime (he'd sit at the corner).

Once it became wet and heavy and pulled on his butt he thought
it was an angry animal come to kill him and stampeded all through
the house for half an hour alternately running away from it or chasing
it & trying to kill it.

It was hysterically funny until I found that EVERYWHERE and EVERYTHING
in  the place was wet!

We laugh at Tyche and Kumani, who alternate between chasing their own
tails and chasing their sister's tail.

***TOP SECRET***

There have been reported sightings of Nocturne chasing her own tail and
shoving it into her mouth.

Repeating this information will get you shot

***END CLASSIFIED INFORMATION***

Smokey's the dumbest individual in the house but he doesn't tailchase.
I guess living feral taught him that one's own tail is not a nourishing
prey?
