five am here and i got up because i couldn't sleep... the wind's
getting whippy already! I was writing and the power flicked off and on
so the puter reset... think it's time to make a quick post just in
case we lose power soon. i've been filtering water - you can never
have too many bottles stored! at this point i'm taking it as a given
that we'll lose power today. i would have said this afternoon but it
could be any time... the palm trees are blowing around and making lots
of noise, and Scouty's playing with her golf ball behind me.

I went to bed at 11.30 so I've had approximately four and a half hours
sleep so far, but I was watching the news and decided that it was more
important to get the final preperations done... besides, the wind's
keeping me awake! i can sleep when the power's off and there's nothing
to do :P

My prayers for everyone in South Florida today...

And if you haven't seen them yet I've been taking pictures - there's a
special gallery in my webshots for the hurricane. The lake and roads
around us flooded on Saturday morning - apparently we live in a small
floodplain! No damage here because we're upstairs, but lots of
photos...

Ditto for you - and for my aunt and uncle who live in Pembroke Pines,
FL, just south of Fort Lauderdale and are right in the path of Wilma.
They are used to hurricanes but I don't expect that makes it any easier
when it hits :-(

Wind-abating purrs to all -

We're farther north and all we're getting is a good soaking of rain with a
few strong wind gusts.  Boy do we need this rain, so, so far, I'm happy.
We're under a tornado watch (last night we had a warning), but other than
that all is good in Pasco County.  (North of Tampa Bay.)
