I just found a link on how to stop cats from killing birds. I wonder if it
works.

I doubt it.  You put anything around a cats neck, if they can take it off
they will.  If they can't, it can hang them.

My first cat (a "woods kitty" feral I brought home from
summer camp) used to leave a robin a day on our front mat.
I tied bells around his neck (with a ribbon, so it was
probably safe).  It didn't slow him down much - he'd move so
smoothly when stalking his prey that there'd be nary a
jingle until he pounced, and by then it was too late!

Looks a bit, um, cumbersome.  Don't bells on collars work anymore?

In my experience, they never did!

Why don't you try it and see, then let us know. I'll follow your lead if it
does. Billy's a terror on the bird population here.

I've seen this one promoted a lot, never known anyone who has tried it
though. It's supposed to emit a high pitched sound when the cat pounces that
scares off the bird, but is outside the range that humans can hear.

Bagheera has that exact collar, it has never stopped him catching birds. BTW
the sound /is not/ outside the range humans can hear.

If the cat is at all proficient as a hunter, by the time it
pounces, it's too late to warn the bird!
