Motivation (a tale of a dirty bedroom)

I stubbed my foot the other night while running to the bathroom to toss my
cookies, so, feeling in a reasonably good mood today, I decided to some of
that late fall cleaning that I've been putting off.  First thing, I find a
cat toy that I'd bought the cats and forgotten.  Merlin drags it to the bed
and chews on it.  Must have nip.  found a quarter.  Hey!!  There's money in
here!!  More cleaning incentive.  I found a few other bits of silver coins,
but most of what I found were of the copper variety.  Not to worry, every
little bit adds up.  Found a couple of missing cat toys.  Qui Gun Kit
treated to a bag of catnip that the older cats had drug under the bed.  He
is not a normal cat anyway, but when those dark amber eyes start bulging and
staring at every move you make, watch out.

I found my stash of unread books.  I thought I was running out.  Nope,
filled up a magazine holder with them.  The magazines went into a bin for
bathroom perusal.  Hah, am I organized or what?  Huey came in, saw what I
was doing and wigged out.  I'm a lousy house keeper, but am I that bad?  I
guess so.  Neat freaks would faint.  Huey wigged instead.  I thought he was
going to bite my ankle, but he went for my sock pile instead.  Allergies
start really playing up due to the dust and cat dander floating around.  Yes
I am a slob.  Rob is worse, but won't admit it.  I refuse to touch his side
of the room.  YUK.  Unfortunately my dresser is on his side of the room.
Maybe I can get him to change with me.  Nah, his holds more than mine.  Cats
are freaking as they barrel through the room.  It's been a long time since I
tore the room apart last.  Aw well, motivation.  I find a t-shirt that I've
been hunting for.  Somehow it got into Rob's pile of clothing on the floor.
How did I do that?

Well, it's been a productive afternoon and I'm taking a break before aiming
for a walk way to my dresser.  Rob really is messier than I am.  Wonder if I
could talk him into changing dressers with me?  Nah, never happen.

So, all of you all, a week off from school, and a lot of guilt have combined
to make my life a little more bearable.  I'm tired, the cats are happy, and
I can actually find my desk.  Don't know if it will encourage those of you
who can use it, but I feel tired but good right now.

Well, I was with you in spirit!  Cleaned our bedroom today too.
Gorgeous day...could open all the windows in there to air it out.  Been
too cold lately for that.  I tend to pile stuff on the spare bed.  A
LOT of stuff!  When it gets head-high I figure I'd better start hanging
things up and putting it into drawers.  Finally unpacked my hubby's
suitcase from AUGUST and washed it.  He is much neater than I am...I
drive him nuts being messy.  Flipped on the tv to pbs while I was in
there and this show called Simplicity (I think) was playing.  The gal
was saying we need to go back to raking and push mowers and no credit
cards.  Hmmmm....  I was starting to get annoyed with her cheery smiles
so turned it off.  Punkin layed in her sunny spot on the big bed and
pretty much ignored all the piles of towels and socks and kid clothes
an STUFF.  The tv bothered her more than anything...I seldom have it on
in there.  Good feeling to get it all done...just wish I could KEEP it
that way!

Wait, he hasn't unpacked and washed his own clothes from August, and
he has the gall to call *you* messy?
