Someone was fighting today

An hour or so ago I heard the sound of a catfight, or something like it, far
away. Everyone was in the house with me except Abelard, so it is presumed he
was fighting with another cat (one of Gloria's, or a stray), but it could
have been just about anything making him scream.

I won't rest again until he comes home, intact. He normally does come in
around dusk, which is in about an hour. In the meantime, chewing my
nails....

In a few minutes it will be completely dark, and there's still no sign of
Abelard. We all just took a long walk looking for him. I have a bad feeling
about his absence this time, because of what I heard earlier.I'll post as
soon as he returns. Please purr that he does, and soon.

Your purrs worked real quick! He's here and unharmed. Whew!

And will you keep him in now after what just happened? I doubt it. By
the time YOU learn Abelard will probably be dead because of you.

Be civil or be gone.

We are adults here and have no need of your proseletysing.

That goes for me, too!  There are two schools of thought
about allowing domestic cats to roam free.  Some reputable
authorities actually claim that being allowed to catch and
eat live prey is healthier for the cat - that no commercial
food, however "complete" meets all their nutritional needs.
On the other hand, there are circumstances when (for
whatever reasons) you CAN'T let a cat out, and it must be an
"indoor only" cat, whatever its (and your) preferences.
However, we each must decide the issue for ourselves, based
upon our own circumstances.  No one needs some
self-righteous prick deciding what's best for ALL cats!

Missed this incident due to time zones and work, but am real glad to
hear he's home and OK.

Well you LET him out so you have none else to blame! Perhaps YOU should
keep him inside. Who's in charge you or the cat? hmm.. I guess the cats
in charge based on your inability to keep him inside. Oh, and forget the
excuses you've used in the past as they are just that excuses for
someone who wimps out and gives in to easy.
