I went to the vets to get food and make an appointment for Pearl and
the receptionist was bottle feeding the teeeeny tiniest little 3 week
old tabby. SOooooo adorable. I guess one of the vet techs boyfriend
found it this weekend. Boy, talk about baby fever.

Awww! You have to take your camera next time! Wouldn't it be interesting
to see how the girls would react to a tiny kitten... ? Sorry, I couldn't
resist. I know neither Dugar nor Pearl need the extra stress of a
newcomer right now.

Twice we had tiny poodle puppies around three weeks old that had to have
minor orthopedic surgery.  I didn't think the vet techs were going to let us
have them back either time.

I actually think Sugar would be fine with kittens. Pearl is another story :)

Bear in mind how Kitty FC, who must have the worst temper in the world,
reacted to my small nephews and niece, see my previous post Kitty Farmcat
and the children.
I'm confident now that she'd be good to little kitties too/
Probably Pearl & Sugar would as well.  KFC surprised me, yours might too.

I've seen Pearl with kittens when she lived with my brother. SHe's not mean
to them, but she sure doesn't like them.

Just like Nikki surprised me with Miranda.

A bitty!

It reminds me of Kumani and Tyche at three weeks :)  Tyche used to sit
in my hand.  Now, she's currently spilling over both sides of my lap as
I write this.

I suspect it loses its charms, if you're the one feeding it
every two hours, 'round the clock!  (And they're so
fragile and  so many things can go wrong, when there's no
mama cat to nurse and care for them.)  Although obviously
the little mite stands a better chance in a vet's office
than with less experienced humans.

In the vets office, unless it is a very small one, there are techs fighting
for their turn.  If there isn't 24 hour staff, someone will take the baby
home.  They probably fight over that too.

I raised a small toy poodle pup by hand from birth.  The only help I had was
a male Siamese cat who slept in its box with it and came and got me up in
the night when it started to cry.  Mama dog would then promptly steal the
warm place in the bed till I got back and moved her.  She had needed a C
Section and never once showed any maternal feeling toward the pup
whatsoever.

It wasn't all that bad, and I don't remember it being as often as every two
hours.

I've got pictures of me feeding it I'll post when I can locate them.  You
will see my expression that I was terrified I was going to drown the little
rat while I was trying to feed it.

You would never know it from the look on my face in the picture but raising
that pup was about as much fun as I've ever had in my life.

Wow, that looked like hard work (or at least that you thought it
was hard).

Can't believe Fluffy's bravery with Moose & the deer!

Like the first time I was responsible for feeding newly hatched
cockatiels with a syringe and rubber tube.  Very scary.

Love the "Fluffy" picts. LOL
