Zoomies in the backyard

Hi all:

Fred and I were throwing the football in the backyard yesterday afternoon on
a crisp cool sunny fall day.  The leaves have mainly fallen and the day had
this special prairie brilliant sunshine zoomie feel to it.  The last hurrah
before winter sort of feel ...

... well, the cats were hillarious.  They spent the whole time hiding behind
trees, digging in their rear ends, and racing out to scare and chase the
other.  They did that cat thing where they then looked the other way like
nothing happened, feigned interest in sniffing the grass and their paws and
things until they really *did* get distracted.  Then, they would find
themselves secretly hiding and pouncing on their brother again.  What a
hoot!  And to think my boys are nine years old :-)

What a lovely day.

~~And to think my boys are nine years old :-) ~~

Mr. Fleas turned nine this year, and he doesn't look a day over three.
He's in excellent shape.  I've been told that nine is considered
geriatric for cats, but if Grandpa Rex lived to be thirty-six, I gotta
question their time-frame.

Azy!

"Unfortunately, I once roomed with a cocker spaniel, and she left a
terrible impression of dogs with whomever she met. Her breath was
terrible, she reeked of sebaceous oils, she chewed her haunches
fanatically, and she was a pathological liar. I learnt quite a few
lessons living with her. Firstly, never lay behind a dog who's just
dined heavily from the rubbish bin. Secondly, never leave kibble for
later if there's a dog about. And, most importantly, never, never trust
a cocker spaniel in a balaclava no matter what they tell you." ~~W.C.

Very well put, Susan. I love that kind of weather, though I like the
darker side of autumn, too.

Sounds adorable. The kittens here have been acting in much the same way,
though they don't have as much room to zoom around in.
