Favourite Scritch Spots?

What are your cats favourite spots to get scritches?  Persia loves having
her neck scritched (I think most cats do).  But she also adores it when I
rub the bridge of her nose.  She tilts her head back, closes her eyes, her
mouth opens slightly and the purr-meter cranks up several decibels :)  She
likes her back by the base of her tail scritched, too (elevator butt!) but
not quite as much.  She doesn't like her ears to be messed with.  She likes
gentle strokes on her tummy but of course, only when she says it's time.

My current boys are pretty similar, Claudius favouring nose-scritches
more
than Bandit or Snowball who can take or leave them. Under the chin is
also a fave. Kensey (RB) was a sucker for noserubs, couldn't get enough.
Temple-rubs, among the thin fur, are also popular. Bandit can't take
tummy tickles (or stroking) except when he's VERY sleepy-relaxed,
Snowball can but prefers other things, but Claudius loves tummy
treatment, even when I burow in with my nose. Hope it lasts!

(PS, Raki the D-pet ADORES nosie-scritches, but then he's got a
nice long nose to get the most from them)

Basho and Issa love scritches all over. And I mean all over!
Xoxo likes scritches on his head and neck.
Luna likes scritches everywhere, but mostly on the head.
Maya prefers the butt.
Fez and Rufous like the entire back, from neck to butt.

Punkers loves the top of her head rubbed, and she almost salivates when
I hold each ear between thumb and forefinger and make gentle
swirley-scritches moving ever so slowly further down her ear until she
can't take it any more.  She always looks like shes coming out of a
hypnotic trance!LOL

Miranda does the exact same thing when I rub her nose, except her purr
is very faint at best. It's more to be seen than heard.

Then again, Miranda loves having a good ear massage.

That goes for all my cats, though lately, Frank hasn't been showing me
his tummy very much, probably because it's hurting.

Heidi is much like Persia.  She likes anything around the chin,
cheeks, throat and neck.  She also likes it all the way down her
back and especially at the base of the tail.  She takes tummy
rubs only a little when she is relaxed, caveat pettor.

Interestingly, when she is standing with her weight on all four
paws, I can dig into her tummy much harder without getting a
reaction, and she clearly enjoys it.

Will likes most anything around the head, and particularly on
top.  And oh! does he love tummy rubs!

When Jasmine first came to us, she would never let us touch her head. Now
she loves staring into your eyes, then rubbing noses, rubbing her nose and
the side of her face down your nose. She'll do it over and over again; kinda
gross, but her way of saying she luvs me! Then she'll lie down on my lap and
purr. But since she's in kitten it's all different- she loooves having her
tummy scritched and rubbed, she rolls over right onto her back and sticks
this huge, round belly at you to be scratched!!! She's very sooky, she'll
just sit and stare at me and purrrr for ages!!! And boy is she hungry!!

All three of the girls love having their ears rubbed - inside! It feels waxy
but isn't really because they keep their ears ultra-clean. Martha especially
enjoys it, and tilts her head forward on an angle to let me know it's
scritch time.

Francesca loves behind the ear scritches, under the chin scritches and
base of the tail scritches.  She's a complete elevator-butt. =o) Nina
and Pan both like ear and chin scritches, and Pan is a slut for tummy
rubs. Nina is getting more cooperative about getting tummy rubs.  SHe
should, she has a way of flopping down, presenting her belly, and then
giving me this look that says "Don't just stand there, slave--rub my
tummy!"

Persia does this, too!  She'll be walking along and suddenly just fall over,
presenting her tummy.  This means it's time for me to rub her tummy :)
Sometimes I have to halt in my tracks to avoid tripping over her.  Other
times she thinks she's just relaxing but that fluffy tummy is too much to
resist!  She lets me know (nicely) when it is not a good idea.

Mr. Clark most likes a spot further forward on his back than the
traditional just-in-front of the tail. When skritched there, he MUST
lick something.  He also loves long scritches along his entire back.
He's also fond of hte neck.

Rhonda wants it between the ears and slightly behind, or on her chest.

Ding prefers the bridge of the nose, the length of the back, and his
tummy.

Jake loves to be scratched or rubbed all over.  Molly only allows me to
touch her a little bit.

When Tara got married three weeks ago, I had my nails done for the first
time in years.  Both my cats are in heaven.  They used to have to wait for
my older daughter to come over with her long acrylic nails to get a good
scratching.  Now I have hard nails too - not so long - and they are so
happy.

Jake has a scar under his chin and he love for that to be rubbed.  I think
he only likes tummy rubs cause he dreams about attacking my hand when he
gets them.

Molly just plain prefers men.  She ignores me unless she thinks I'm asleep
or the food bowl is empty or I have a new cat toy for her.  But a guy comes
into the house, even a stranger and she's all over his ankles.  She thinks
she belongs to one grandson.  And likes one of his friends so much she
brings him mice and lizards.

Mistletoe:  Behind the skull at the juncture with the spinal column.  Always
gets a mrrp and starts the purr-motor.

Smokey:  Under the chin (unless he's hungry - then "don't touch me, feed me
NOW")

Vino loves to be scritched on his puffy cheek pads.  That's his
favourite spot of all.  He also likes under the chin.  When he's
mellow, he likes tummy rubs too.
He does not tolerate elevator butt.  Probably because of his tail nub.
It seems to be sensitive.

~~What are your cats favourite spots to get scritches?~~

Mr. Flea is rather dog-like in the scratching department.  He likes to
have right between his ears scratched, the harder the better, and then
finished up with a tug of his left ear.  He loves it.  Purrs like a
fiend.  I also have very long fingernails, so he likes to have his
haunches scratched.  He gets too rowdy if I scratch him too much,
though; so even when he begs I have to limit the haunch treatment.

Azy!

"Unfortunately, I once roomed with a cocker spaniel, and she left a
terrible impression of dogs with whomever she met. Her breath was
terrible, she reeked of sebaceous oils, she chewed her haunches
fanatically, and she was a pathological liar. I learnt quite a few
lessons living with her. Firstly, never lay behind a dog who's just
dined heavily from the rubbish bin. Secondly, never leave kibble for
later if there's a dog about. And, most importantly, never, never trust
a cocker spaniel in a balaclava no matter what they tell you." ~~W.C.
