One last baby canine just won't let go. If you have a strong stomach you
can see it here:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/410336533/470461883eTMHPw

But at least it's now loose, so he could be rid of it tonight or
tomorrow.
I'm pleased to say he's been remarkably unconcerned about the whole
thing and lets me examine him without demur.

In fact when I scruffed him to pop in his Milbemax deworming tablet
today he purred!  (Sorry Marina)

What a good boy!!  Stinky (HK Class of 1991) had a similar thing--
luckily he was due for a checkup, and the vet just popped the baby
tooth right out.

Dante has such CUTE tiny little teethies.  They are pretty sharp, too.

Uhoh!  Sounds like you have a little masochist on your hands.  Keep
his paws off books by Marquis de Sade!

Pretty kitty!

Most of my fosters have had both the baby and permanent canines in at the
same time. Most of the time it doesn't bother them in the least.

Oh, is *that* all?  I had a double row of front teeth when I was a
kid.  Granted, I needed braces afterwards, but it's not *that* gross
... is it?

None of the rest did, this one has a swollen gum as it's taking so long
and
must be uncomfortable for the poor little guy. Or maybe it's just me
being
hyperconcerned. I'm sure when it's gone (and the pic didn't show the
full
length btw) he'll be absolutely fine.

Grrr. I'm just glad the ringworm medication is over for now. It was only
the last few days that I discovered that they would actually eat it
right up if I wrapped the pill in a slice of sandwich turkey (I was sure
they'd eat the turkey and spit out the pill, but they didn't).

I think your lot are proving my point: give them a good enough treat
(ie incentive) and they'll co-operate with anything!

I spent weeks giving Bandit 4xaday eyedrops cold from the frig. plus
a pill twice a day, but because each dosing was followed by foodies
I received nary a scratch - sometimes he'd start purring as he saw
the treat arrive in the bowl - immediately prior to treatment - and
be purring in anticipation all the way through!

So I'd have Frank in the kitchen lusting after his favourite food
(if he has a fave) while being dosed so any upset dissipates in
an instant as he tucks in.

Mind you, cats being such individuals, there are always going
to be exceptions, and the Cunning Plan may not work.

That's just the problem, he doesn't really have a fave food. Nothing
that he'd go really wild about. I do feed him right after giving the
meds, and the kitten food seems to be the thing at the moment, but he's
not mad about it, not like the kittens are about turkey. He will
politely eat some turkey if I can keep the kittens at bay while he
slowly devours it. He used to go mad for shrimpies, but not any more.
There doesn't seem to be anything that he gets reall excited about any
more. Maybe his sense of taste or smell is going, too.

:-(((

It's SO sad when their wonderful enthusiasm for life, the universe and
everything starts to fade.
When Aries RB was effectively starving to death with CRF at age 14 I
could only rouse him from lethargy with fresh salmon that I'd
semi-liquidised in a food processor bought especially for the purpose.
Even his oldest favourite fresh raw breast of chicken didn't appeal any
more, chopped or whole.

In the meantime, the good news is that Claudius' stupporn fang has gone!
Down the hatch at breakfast, probably. He's much brighter today and more
cuddly & purry too, so it must have been troubling him.

The young ones can certainly do a good job keeping our minds away from
dwelling on the sorrows of ageing.

Good news about the fang! The good news here is that Frank has eaten a
lot today; kitten food, convalescent food, pork... He sampled all the
buffet offerings today, and he's eaten quite a bit of all sorts.

That's great, not just good, news!
I hope he doesn't throw any of it back up: in Aries' last week as his
system was shutting down he
couldn't keep anything down except water.

Here's hoping that's a long way away.

Yes, good news about the fang!

FANTASTIC news about Frank!  A veritable smorgasbord and he sampled all of
it!  Wonderful!

I'm so very relieved to hear Frank is eating and enjoying it too!
Best wishes and purrs,
