Scene: my computer desk, 8 am eastern time, USA.
Cast of characters: Myself, Gabby, ETwo and Isaac.

The printer hums, and it gets the attention of Isaac, who stands beside it
and watches the light flicker on. Gabby, wondering what Isaac is doing,
climbs on top of my printer to get a better look. The printer starts up, and
they can see the print head moving back and forth.  They MUST keep their
eyes on it, so they quickly move their heads back and forth in time with the
printer. ETwo comes running over and stands in front of it, then peeks down
to watch the carriage go back and forth, back and forth. By this time the
photo I was printing was almost done. The printer clicked and spit out the
paper, and all 3 cats levitated! They left so fast I think Isaac left a
couple of stripes behind! They were firmly convinced that a monster was
after them! They got all bottle brushy tails and indignant ears. It took me
about 10 minutes to stop laughing. <G> Mean old mommy!

ROTFL MEAN Mommy!

My printer is an old dot matrix, which Sammy finds fascinating. I
usually lock her out of the room when printing something, though.
Otherwise she catches the paper as it feeds into the printer, creating
a jam. Of course she does NOT appreciate being locked out of the room
;-) especially since LB gets to stay. All LB does is lay on the cover
when I take it off the printer and put it on the floor.

Great way to put it! That would make an entertaining cartoon.
