I need to set this story up a little by explaining my pantry
cupboards. There are upper and lower cupboards, which are separated
about chest high. The upper cupboard which has two fixed shelves,
while the lower has several pull out drawers, and both upper and lower
have double doors which open in the middle. For some unknown reason,
there's a little cat-sized hole in the bottom shelf of the upper
cupboard, which of course Sammy discovered long ago. Since she can
open the bottom cupboard, she can then use the access hole to climb
into the upper cupboard. I discovered this when I came home one day to
find that she had climbed into the upper cupboard and dumped the cat
food off the shelf onto the floor.
Enough of the set up, here's what I was just treated to as I was
reading the group. I heard the banging of the cupboard doors which
means Sammy has gotten inside and the doors have closed her in. I look
over and see Spotty in the upper cupboard (somehow they had pushed
open the upper doors and the bottom doors were closed). Spotty was
positioned over the access hole into the lower cupboard swatting
through the hole at something. I heard another bang from the lower
cupboard, which was Sammy pushing against the doors and the spring
loaded doors closing themselves. Two white paws appeared at the top
of the door, and Sammy gave them another push, but they shut again
before she could get them open enough to get out. She was really
having a hard time opening them, especially with Spot swatting at her
from above.
When I stopped laughing, I went over and opened the door for Sammy.
Sammy jumped out, and I shut the bottom cupboard, leaving Spotty
looking out at things from the top cupboard. A few minutes later the
whole thing happened again, but this time Spotty was in down below and
Sammy was the one swatting at her from above.
Crazy cats ;-) I just hope they get bored with their new game and
don't keep me up all hours banging on the doors.

LOL! Sounds like they are getting along swimmingly.

Oh yeah, Sammy and Spot get along fine now. They play together and
mutually groom each other quite a bit. LB still doesn't have much use
for Spotty. I think it's mainly because Spot is too rambunctious
(after all, despite the fact that Spot had a litter of kittens, she's
still a youngster, probably not over a year and a half old) The good
thing is that LB is o longer afraid of Spot - if Spot gets too frisky
LB hisses and threatens to bop her, and Spot backs off. Sammy usually
hears her momma hissing, and Spot and Sammy end up playing.
Another thing I take as a really good sign is that Spot is totally
over her food fixation. I always feed them when I get home from work,
and Spot is now more interested in greeting me than eating, and
usually Sammy and LB eat while Spot follows me around telling me what
has gone on while I was out - she's much more of a talker than the
older girls.

Sounds great! I really wish that Stinky and Dante work out like that.
Stinky still hisses at Dante, and has even taken a couple of swings at
him (without connecting). It's all so "one steps forward, two steps
back." It's interesting to watch, though.
Dante is a real loudmouth (in a high, squeaky way). When I first saw
him in his sheltter cage, he was sitting in the front mewing away. I
thought it was *because* he was in the cage. A little while after I
got him home, I discovered, NO, he does this A LOT. ;)

That's hysterical. Tell it to people who don't think cats have senses
of humor. I always say anyone who's seen on cat sneak up on another
in the litter box knows that cats have senses of humor. Questionable
senses of humor, but senses of humor, nonetheless. ;)
