Most of you know about Miss Priss, the (front declawed) tortie that we have
had for a guest since last Thursday.

Last night, she darted out the door when DH was bringing Max the d-thing in
from his walk, but she came back in a few minutes and was under one of our
cars.

She did it again this morning.  Grrrrrrrrr  Ran into the woods behind our
neighbor's house.

Will keep looking for her and post when/if we find her.

Maybe she just wants to go home.....

I was going out to take Max the D-thing on a walk (not just a poo-pee run in
the yard, but an actual walk at a nearby "linear" park - we usually go just
over 2.5 miles), and sitting in the sun right outside the garage door was
Miss Priss.  I tied Max up on a tether, walked to the Jeep (parked outside
the garage - our garage is detached and used more for the storage of
yard/garden equipment & power tools), called to her and she came to me - I
gave her skritchies on the head, then grabbed her scruff, scooped her up and
brought her back inside.  I set her down just inside the (enclosed) back
porch, and she sauntered off, thail high as if she owned the house!  Got
news for her - *Lizzie* owns the house!

Told DH that he will *have* to be more careful when entering exiting the
house - not "holding" the doors open wide as he so often does with little
regard to what creature might run in/out.

Maybe she is used to a free access, in-and-out lifestyle.  Glad she's
back.  I love the name Miss Priss.  She's such a pretty cat.

She may be used to "free access", but she's not getting that with us.  She
*front declawed*!!!!!  We're not letting her outside to fend off the ferals
that roam the neighborhood.

I'm so glad she's back!  I agree not to let a front declawed cat in/out.
And she's so incredibly pretty.

We always jingled keys at cat level when entering the door. That
spooked off any that were hopeful. Ours actually were indoor/outdoor,
but not free access and we didn't want them out all the time.  The big
thing is you aren't used to "cats at the door hoping to go out". So
just begin to think of that last thing when leaving and first thing
when entering. YOu may even have to put her in another room for a while
when you leave. She'll learn. Or maybe train her to leash so she can go
on walks with the D thing.

I'm so relieved to hear she's back.

I'm several days behind, so saw this before sending off purrs that
she'd come back. I'm glad she's back with you

Which remninds me, I haven't posted any Spotty updates in awhile. What
this has to do with Miss Priss wanting (and sneakking) out is that
Spotty still shows no real interest in going out. I've been pretty
busy lately, so haven't taken Sammy and Little Bit out as often as
they'd like. When I get everyone dressed for an excursion into the
OUT, well I put on their collars, and Sammy gets her leash on since
she likes to roam further than I like her to, Spotty still just sits
in the open door and refuses to come out. She always greets me at the
door and looks out, but, so far at least, doesn't want to go out.
