Or: Guys, this is another good reason to leave the seat down. Both of
them...
Our Brandy has an unnatural, uncatty fixation on things watery. When I'm
in the shower she gets on the edge of the tub and shadowboxes my @rse
(ALWAYS that part of my body, kind of like how she always seems to knead
the bezongas.) And when we brush our teeth or I fix my makeup, she likes
to sit on the can and watch, or stand on the seat and put her front paws
up on the sink, being the inquisitive little hoolikitten that she is.
Yesterday as Louie was getting ready to go back to work after coming
home for lunch, Brandy watch deeply engrossed as she sat on the john,
watching Louie tie his turban. Occasionally she'd reach out with a
naughty little paw and take a swipe at the fabric as Louie wound it
round his head. (A turban is typically six to eight meters long, for a
grown man.) She then tried to reach up and play Tarzan on the swinging
cloth, only to lose her footing and slip right into the porcelain
throne!
I'm told you never saw a kitten move so fast. She got her little tail
out of the can like greased lightning, shouting profanities that one
would never expect to hear from so young a mouth. Then, she decided to
pull my towel off the bar and roll in it! I have to give her points for
rational thought and ingenuity. Could my adorable little juvenile
delinquent be turning Vulcan, that she thinks so logically?
That's it. No more watching marathon Star Trek shows on the SciFi
channel on my days off...
Blessed be,
Baha

A fixation on water might be "uncatty," but I have yet to meet a cat
who isn't obsessed with the bathroom. It's like Kitty Disneyland cum
water park. ;)
Now when the cat sits with great fascination, watching your male
friends and family urinate, that tends to make them a bit nervous . .
. ;)

It still tickles me *every* time Grant and Sugar run to hang over the rim of
the toilet to watch it go down. I have been known to flush the toilet JUST
for their entertainment. Oddly, Pearl has no interest in the big white bowl
whatsoever.

I've had several cats with that fascination.... Scamper (RB) used to
sit in the sprinklers on the lawn in the summer, and take showers with
me every morning. When she crossed the Bridge, mornings were the
hardest- somehow taking a shower without that little grey kitty wasn't
the same.

Well, it could have been worse... our newest fur baby also has a
fascination for toilets. For several weeks, she'd jump up on the
toilet to peer down into the bowl. One morning my 19 year old son
staggered into the bathroom half awake in the way that only 19 year old
boys can be. He swung the door shut, but it didn't latch. As soon as
Buttercup realized that someone was in the bathroom, she charged down
the hall, slid through the partly open jar and jumped OVER the
toilet... right through the stream.... I hear a loud commotion, with
Andy's excalamtions of "@$*# cat!!" and look down the hall just in
time to see Miss Buttercup tearing out of the bathroom at full tilt.
Imagine, if you will, a roughly 10 week old Siamese kitten with a wet,
yellow stripe beginning just behind her ears and running the length of
her body. I grabbed her and stuck her under the fawcet in the sink to
rinse her off. I was laughing so hard that I almost dropped her. Once
she calmed down and dried off she was none the worse for her adventure.
It did cure her of jumping onto the toilet when humans were too close,
though.

Oy!!! Is that a riot! I nearly fell over laughing with that mental picture.
I've heard of one having a yellow streak down one's back, but this one takes
it!
Blessed be,

My cat, Annabel Lee, did that one time. She was fascinated with the
toilet, and once leaned forward into the pee stream while trying to
get a better look.

I hope I don't have that kind of accident here. I sure don't want to
pee on anyone. :) Fortunately, Betty's not allowed in the bathroom.
I think it would bother me if she were, because I'm rather modest
around her.
