I'm seriously considering a D-pet, you guys. I like d*gs, but it's rare
that I get really attached to one at the shelter. This girl is special.
And she just loves *me*, for some reason. The kennelmaster had her out
front, and dropped the leash. She ran over and got behind me. Followed
me everywhere. She is just the most docile, calm german-shephard
wanna-be you ever saw. She loves cats. I'm seriously considering this.
I should have my head examined.
Here's her pic. Please excuse the background mess. It's the remnants
from the garage sale they had at the shelter last weekend. Normally the
place doesn't look so messy.

She is beautiful and intelligent looking. Do you like to go on dog walks?
Is she good with ALL cats? Best wishes that you make the right decision.

Just like cats usually pick their slaves, dogs also tend to pick their
owners. Sounds like you have been picked. Good luck with the decision.

D-Pets are great. As long as they know their place around the Siperior
Species, things should go pretty well.
My own D-pet knows that Shmogg and IBKFergus are "family" and doesn't try to
chase them off the property (OK, maybe she tries to herd them from time to
time, but then she gets distracted byt he dreaded Tail and herding cats is
once again forgotten), but if the cat next door *dares* to cross the fence
line, she'll run him off in no time flat.
I wouldn't trade Fluffy in for the world.

She's gorgeous! Shephards are generally gentle. We had one years ago when we had
our other cat, Prissy, and there was never a problem.

Sounds like you have been adopted. Lucky you - she is a handsome girl.
Don't know if it's just the camera angle, but her face seems to have a
little labrador mixed in with the shepherd.

Looks like you've been adopted :)
She looks beautiful. She looks like she could be part golden retriever
or labrador given her face and colour.
Best wishes with the decision. Let us know when you've decided.

She looks just like my Chyna, that I got at a local shelter and was
told she was husky/shepherd mix. My girl is sweet, a little on the
dominant side.
Go for it! I know of many people who have dogs and cats and they
become best of friends!

I was thinking this one could be a mix like that too, I guess mostly because
of the area around the eye
but a lab/retriever connection is of course possible too
anyway it's an adorable d*ggy

I'm a D-pet and I think she's adorable!
I am suitably in awe of my cat-masters who
lord it over my hoomin master and don't give
anyone any trouble. So a harmonious household
is pretty easy. Mind you she's a big girl and probly
probly eats quite a lot.
Woofs for a happy integration

Puss (aged 4.5 months) is Tumultuous Claudius Destructivus,
Emperor of Home. He's a Full Expression Silver Blue Ticked Tabby
Tiffanie (semi-longhaired Asian, mostly Burmese with some
Chinchilla for the coat).
Plenty more of his pics around that one, and a
few anecdotes entitled "Claudius' Chronicles X" if you missed
them and want to Google the NG.
Good luck with the Newgirl. We await info & pics with great
interest.

awwwww.. that's so cute! We have a shiba inu named Taisho that comes to
the doggy daycare on a regular basis. He reminds us of a cat himself!

I've heard that Shibas are the nearest thing in the D-world to Siamese.
Raki's certainly got the yowl (thankfully not very often). And after a
bath he'll lick himself all over in a very cat fashion. Add the delicate
little paws and mischievious disposition and you've got a fine breed.
We're lucky to have him (he was a very scarce rescue).

I never heard of a Shiba. Can't even imagine a Siamese version of a
dog!!! What a character he must be.
There's so many dog breeds I never heard of, I learn about new ones all
the time. Someone brought in a Schipperke a while back, new to me, so
cute, looked like a little mini-Chow chow.
