Miranda loves being out in the enclosure. sometimes it's hard to get her
inside, but it's too cold outside to keep the door open all the time. It
struck me the other day that Russian Blues have a thinner coat than most
cats. So doesn't Miranda get cold out there?

I remember my niece knitted a sweater for her Russian Blue, Kasper, the
first winter he spent with them. They'd gone out to their cabin between
Yule and New Year, and the cabin was very cold. So Kasper had to wear
his sweater. My sister and I rolled our eyes when we saw the pics of him
in his natty little sweater, but now I started woprrying about Mir being
too cold.

I e-mailed my niece and asked her opinion about it (she does know much
more about Russian Blues than I do). She said not to worry, and that
it's the ears that are most prone to freezing. Well, I reckon that's
true for most cats (except NFCs and maybe MCs). So maybe I should knit
Mir-mir a little cap? ;o) Wouldn't that be just too hip and cool? :oP Or
ear muffs? A scarf? Little booties? The possibilities are endless.

Love the stripes. Does that make him a tabby by default?

Akk!!  Adorable! My mom, a major Washington Redskins (NFL Football
team) fan, and knitter, would scream over that sweater!

I can just imagine getting her to keep them on! A friend of mine has put
coats on her dogs for years, which all the neighbours thinks is really
bizarre. But the dogs (they were/are pugs) are very short-furred and
apparently need the extra protection. Sled dogs sometimes wear booties.
And I have heard of cats getting the tips of their ears frozen.

But putting on a hat!!! Would you use a style that ties under her chin?
What about one with little knitted triangles for the ears?

LOL! I'd forgotten about those. That leopardskin-patterned outfit would
make Miranda look like some 50s movie star!

Speaking of Russian Blues wearing things... How about a hooded sweater?

Donna, Captain, and Stanley (who both shed enough fur to knit a sweater)

A hoodie *and* a knitted cap. She'll be buying baggy pants next. :oP

Hmm, I don't know. Maybe 40-50 C. You mean I should heat the sauna for
Miranda? That's a thought. The floor in the bathroom also heats up.

During winter here (and it doesn't get nearly as cold as it does over
there) the cats are total heat magnets. They *love* any and all sources
of heat.

I think I would have killed for a heated bathroom floor when we lived in
Alaska.  Enjoy.

if you could just find a way for some of the loose fur constantly flying
around a cat's home, settling on their ears?
ought to keep them warm ...
