Hi all:

Sometimes when Otis is particularly in the mood for and happy with his
scritches, he gets his purr motor revved into overdrive and starts meowing
at the same time.  It's just hillarious mmmrrreeerrroooorrrroooowwww.  Does
anyone else's owner make this noise??

Luna does. She also drools. I guess she's happy! :)

Awww - happy Luna :-)  Otis drools too - often when he's standing on my
chest with his face over mine.  Ugh.

Same with the sudden shaking of the head and drool goes flying
everywhere. Including the face and mouth.  Ewwwwww  LOL

Nikki used to purr and chirp at the same time. Such a cute sound.

I love it when cats  try to purr and eat at the same time.  =o) Pan can
sound like a little motorboat engine when he really starts purring!

Muscat purrs & eats at once, it's a loud, slightly messy sound of
appreciation.

YES! PrrrrrrKKKKKKrrrrrKKKKKKrrrrrrKKKKK... one of my favorite sounds of
all time. :o)

Captain doesn't seem to realize that it's possible to vocalize with his
mouth open. His normal utterance is s closed-mouth MRRRRRP combo of a meow
and a purr. He's also prone to LOUDLY purr his contentment when he's happy,
and when he doesn't want to be picked up, he'll utter a high-pitched,
closed-mouth little squeak noise.

Stanley rarely meows. If he does, it's normally while standing at the food
bowl while I'm preparing to fill it. Then he'll let out a high-pitched
"Aaa" squeak. He also normally purrs quietly, so that you have to be in
contact with him to feel it. However, in the past few days, he's actually
let out some purrs that were audible from a distance. I guess his motor is
getting stronger with practice. :o)

The first day we had Ping (after he claimed us by getting into our
basement), we fed him on the front porch (we didn't know if he had any
nasties that he would give to our other cats), he was yeowling - while
eating!  Sounded like he was drowning!

Frank did that after I found him when he had been AWOL for five weeks.
He slept and ate for three days or so, and every minute he was awake he
was talking, talking, talking, even when he was eating. I'm sure he told
me all about his adventures, if only I'd understood what he said.

My parents had a cat for 15 years who would let out a "Prrrp" noise
whenever she entered a room where someone was.  Apparently, that was
her standard "Hello" sound.

His British counterpart also drools when his tummy's rubbed, it's
almost pornographic.  He drops his head back, rolls his eyes up, opens
his mouth so you can see his 2 remaining dracula fangs and dribbles.
He likes it hard and fast (the belly rub for those with dirty minds),
and likes it best when my nails are long, I told you it was almost porn!
