Same here Karen. I know someone going down there tomorrow, but she's
a dog rescuer. She'll do what she can for cats, but isn't very
experienced with them. She has traps.

Could anyone here help me out? A group of us would like to send
donations for the rescue of cats and dogs in New Orleans and would like
the addresses of organizations doing this work.
You can e-mail me.
Thank you very much.

Both the Humane Society and the ASPCA are accepting donations and both
are nationally respected organizations.

We are supporting a local rescue group in south Texas that is taking in some
of the animals.
Anyone living in an area that is taking in humans and wants also to support
the rescue of the pets, should not forget to check with the local rescue
groups that don't have the national recognition and resources of the larger
groups.
These local groups are not in the national headlines.  They are in the
background providing refuge for pets after they are rescued and have very
limited budgets and little, if any, publicity.

Yes, there is a d*g rescue group here in Austin that is taking in pets
from LA and they are sending volunteers to help over there.
