How can you, indeed? There is by definition, nothing ever wrong with
black-and-white cats. :P

Purrs for a good checkup. Sure would be nice if we could convince the
furry ones that it's not just a sadistic, and TED is NOT really a
vampire with a taste for feline blood. But in the second pic it looks
like Frank is going over strategy for avoiding the trip. Hope you
enjoy Frank's singing to and from TED ;-)

And what a horrible visit it turned out to be. Nikki had to be put under
to shave her chin and get the mats out, then have antibiotic ointment
applied. The vet seemed to lean towards acne, but also mentioned the
possibility of allergies. Well, Nikki's diet hasn't changed for many
eyars, but I suppose it's possible to contract sudden allergies to
something. I have to give a course of anibiotics to her the next ten days.
Frank had his blood drawn to check his liver and kidney values. Both
were a bit elevated, so the vet suspected his hyperthyroidism meds might
need tweaking, so he had to have even more blood drawn for that test.
Now, the first time they took his blood, the vet had to ask an assistant
to wrap him in a blanket and put a mask on his face, because for the
first time ever, I couldn't hold him. The second time he simply was not
going to stand for it. They took him into a back room and I had to wait
outside, but I heard him growling and swearing. I know it was all for
his best, but all the time, I wanted to rush in and save my little boy.
They also gave him some fluids. I just hope this isn't the start of CRF,
but the vet seemed to think it could all be fixed by tweaking his
hyperthyroidism meds. I asked about the stripe on his nose, and the vet
asked if he ever seems to have trouble breathing, but when she heard he
doesn't, the matter sort of got dropped, and with everything else going
on, I forgot about it.
Frank used to be such a good boy at the vet's, but ever since they
started pricking him and stealing his blood every time we go, he has
become harder and harder to handle. The vet's assistant finally came out
bearing Frank, with welder's gloves on. That's my boy!
We're home, and the cats are visibly relieved, and not at all mad at me
(unless they are planning some sneak revenge). Phew! It's always such a
todo to take them to TED's. And my purse is considerably thinner. I
splashed out on a taxi both ways, but that was only a fraction of the
expense. What we wouldn't do for our babies!

Purrs from us that both Frank and Nikki will soon feel fine and that it will
be a long time before you'll have to visit TED again.

Awww. It's so traumatic when they have to do that stuff :( I"m glad they are
home. I bet Nikki's chin is just acne. You might want to get her used to the
ocassional chin wash. Amigo used to really be susceptible to it. Ick, ick,
ick. I hope they got a nice treat when they got home and you got something
special for yourself after such an ordeal.

Aw, sorry it turned out to be such a bad visit. Purrs that Nikki's
chin will clear up with no problems with the medication. And dextra
purrs that this doesn't mean Frank will have to make repeated trips to
get bloodwork done to do the med tweaking.

ROFL!!!!!
They were probably the lead lined gloves used when taking x-rays.
But even those gloves I wouldn't trust. Once I was holding a cat for
x-rays and the little bugger bit the glove and went through it. It
didn't hit my finger, but left a nice hole

I'm sorry you and your babies had such a rough time with TED. I'm glad
everyone is home safe now. I'll say a prayer that Frank doesn't go into
CRF, and that Nikki's problem clears up.

to do it, just can't get myself motivated. ::sigh::

If it didn't set off any alarms with the vet, I'll bet it's nothing to
be concerned about. :)

Purrs for Frank & Nikki. Maybe the stripe on Frank's nose is when he's
cloned himself so he can teleport to see Waffles, and the clone is not
quite perfect, which of course Frank is.

Because you love them and want them with you and in good health for as long
as possible? <G> Okay, that argument works on me, but Cesca warns that
OBVIOUSLY they're going to be anesthetized, cut open and kittens will be
scooped out of their tummies. She adds that after TED did that to her, she
grudgingly admits to feeling better afterwards. AND he gave her a cute baby
to care for. I think those two are discussing possible strategies, too.
