I love the way they stomp around projecting "I'm a big butch cat" thoughts, but they're such cuddle bugs under the surface. Phoenix is quite a cuddle bug, but memphis will NOT go on a lap, he insists on being fussed on the floor etc. He will tolerate being picked up, but not for long. He thinks it ruins his cat cred! He thinks it ruins his cat cred! My Sammy is a little like that. Occassionally she jumps up and wants to be petted, but she rarely sits still for long. Usually when I pet her she's more of a moving target, walking back and forth. Kind of funny, since when Little Bit had her babies I decided to keep Sam because she purred whenever I picked her up, and would lay on her back in my arms and go to sleep, purring up a storm. She still purrs, just doesn't hold still for long.
