We've been moving in, unloading furniture, boxes, finding spots for all of
our household goods...As a result I haven't been reading or posting. I
popped in last night and thought you all had been *rather* busy...10,000+
posts!?! Anyhoo...Willow update...
I took her to the regular vet here in VA and they promptly referred us to
internal specialists in Manassas. So Willow and I spent the better part of
the day there while the vet, who was incredibly thorough, read through her
records, translated her ultra sound, and did her own tests. What it comes
down to is that Willow either has Irritable Bowel Disease or a diffuse
cancer of the bowels...the only way to get a definitive answer is via
endoscopy. So we are going to go ahead and do that next Wednesday. I am
scared for my little girl. She is such a good friend and I want her to feel
better.
Please keep us in your thoughts and purrs.

That's exactly what our TED said about Basho. We decided to try to
treat IBD first with metronidazole and diet first, in case that's what
it was. The metronidazole did the trick and Basho stopped vomiting.
He's back to 8.5 pounds now. :)
Lots of purrs for Willow.

She is on some anti-nausea/diarrheal medication, but it hasn't totally
stopped the vomiting or the loose stools. What did you do for diet?

Well, we got some Rx food from the vet, but Basho wouldn't touch it. So
we just kept feeding him what he would eat. Nutro Gourmet California
chicken supreme is his favorite. I did stop buying Proplan food, because
it has byproducts. Now we only feed Nutro and as much super-premiums and
they'll eat.

We're purring for her to have only an irritable bowel! Poor baby! It was
good that your vet referred her so quickly. I like hearing about vets who
know when they're in over their heads. Better to refer before it gets out
of control. All the best to both of you.

Purrs that the findings aren't serious and are easily treatable.
