We recently checked an ID chip for a stray (that had turned up on the
doorstep of one of our fosterers ... clever cat!) and found that it was
registered in Birmingham. A little more investigation into our Lost and
Found files using the name on the ID chip turned up a lost cat report from
several months ago when its owners had brought it up to Preston on a visit
to relatives, and it had escaped. It was soon happily reunited with its
owners.
Love

Well, Smokey is still wearing a tag stating that he was Vaccinated for
Rabies halfway across the country from our current home... I wonder if
anyone who knew him in his feral days could've guessed how far he'd go.
(Captain Hancock, the security chief who tamed him in 2002, was worried
when he heard in 2003 that I was moving--what would happen to Smokey?
As if leaving him behind was EVER an option!!)
