My sister (who's taken out her Oz nationality now) is not amused. I guess there'll be a street party in London later this week, something to brighten us up anyway, what with all the flooding going on (in both senses of the word).

Why? Because of 18 years of exceptionally boring cricket, the next few Ashes series will actually be *interesting*.
its not much of a game when one side so severly outweighed the other that everyone pretty much knew the outcome before it had even started.

One thing that did annoy me [and they will all deny it now] were the large number of people and newspaper reports who wrote England off after the first Test, saying they were no good. That's English people, of course.
I think the best moment of the whole series was when England needed a draw, and the umpires were discussing whether the light was too bad to continue. There were two sections of crowd near each other, one full of Ozzies, one of English. The English were all putting up umbrellas and the Ozzies took their shirts off and fanned themselves. :))
