She's going to be boarded at the vet the morning of 9/14, along with the
feathered one, Peaches. Now, Peaches doesn't care. When I put her cage in
the car she chirps along with the radio and is happy. She's a bird, after
all :)
Persia is going to have to be tricked. First trick is, while she's in her
newfound "bed" in the closet (my rolled up comforter) and she's snoozing,
I'm going to unpack and check the contents of my suitcase. I'm still not
sure she understands the meaning of the suitcase, since I've never packed it
in front of her and then shoved her in the cat-carrier. But just to be on
the safe side, I'll conduct these activities when she's snoozing in the
closet.
The second trick is lulling her into a false sense of security. Wednesday
is like any other day. Yep, wake me up. Tap me on the shoulder to get your
crunchies. I'll grouse about it as a normally do, because my flight doesn't
leave until the afternoon. Then I'll come read the ng. I always close the
closet door at night because I like to know where she is. She doesn't
normally notice she can't get in there until late morning. So she'll lounge
on the pillow next to my computer. I'll casually get up, make a trip to the
loo and close the bedroom door after me.
When she is least suspecting, I'll scoop her up and, closing the office door
behind me, put her in the carrier. She will, of course, by that time be
protesting but she will have no place to go where I cannot confiscate her :)
Poor baby.
But they love her at the vet and they take great pains to visit her many
times a day. And when the cattery is empty (it's usually only full around
holiday weekends) they let her out of her kennel so she has the run of the
room. I'm told she climbs on top of "her" kennel so she can see through the
windows. She sings out loudly to anyone passing by to come pay her some
attention, and they definitely do that! They love her :)
Peaches doesn't care. They put her in the room where the vet techs are
working and they get such a kick out of her singing and ringing her bell
toys.
I always call several times when I'm gone to check on both of them.

Oh No!!! I'll make sure NOT to tell Weebs, but please make sure Persia
"rites" him before she leaves - as (from what I remember), the TED won't let
her email from there (bad TED!)
Weeble has been playing with His Purple Puffball today (actually, it's a
replacement from the hidden stash, as the other one is MIA), nyeowing and
mrrping his silly fuzzy head off at it.

They don't have internet access! I suppose in light of the care they should
give to the pets, not being able to surf the web or this ng is a good idea
:) I'll make sure she "rites" to Weebs.

Ha! So you tricked Weebs, too! I'm going to tuck in Persia's kitty-nip sock
since she likes to sleep with her head on it like a little pillow. Just
have to make sure I get it back! They are notorious for leaving her collar
out of the carrier. Can't have her going without her "security blanket"
once we get home.

My mistake, folks... I didn't read closely enough. Another for the
killfile.

That's okay Jill. It's nice to read about Persia. Such a lucky cat.

that was one of the trollers, not the real Matthew - notice the mispelling
of his last name.
