I know you lot are very good at coming up with new kitten names.
Here's my problem, I usually ask the new slaves of my kittens if they have
preferred names that I can register the kittens as, I have a couple and
their adult son who are buying two kittens (they've had Burmese before) they
want me to give them their registered names and they will give them *pet*
names when they get them home - there is a boy and a girl, I like names that
*go* together (such as the famous or is that infamous Bonnie and Clyde)
I had thought of Sonny and Cher.
Please put your collective thinking caps on and help me out
Thanks
Lois

Ceasar & Cleopatra, suitably grand :-)
Troilus & Cressida (continuing the Shakespeare theme)
Fred & Ethel (going off at something of a tangent to the previous theme)
Franklin & Eleanor
Bill & Hilary
I could keep going :-)

Ooooo, good ones. I worked with a girl named Arowyn - her dad was a LOTR
fan.

Wow. I never thought of that. It's been around long enough that there are
maybe many adults named after characters. I bet with the movies there will
be many more in years to come.

You're just conflating Eowyn and Arwen :)
What about calling them after a pair of brother and sister Gods? Like
Artemis and Apollo?

I favour any of the characters from the show 'Cats'. My favourite name
was Rum Tum Tugger (is a curious cat, and always on the wrong side of
every door. When you let him in he wants to go OUT". This is perfect
for a Burmese. I was once owned by a Rum Tum. I can't think of the
other characters from 'Cats' at the moment but I am sure others in the
group will know them all :)

From TS Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats": Growltiger, Rum
Tum Tugger, Mungojerrie, Rumpleteazer, Old Deuteronomy, Mr.
Mistoffelees, Macavity, Gus, Bustopher Jones, Skimbleshanks, Cat Morgan.
Maybe Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer would be good names for Burmese:
"Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer were a very notorious couple of cats.
As knock-about clowns, quick-change comedians, tight-rope walkers and
acrobats"
Only they are a couple of boy's names.

In the video of "Cats" I have [as you know, "Cats" was based on the
Eliot book], Rumpelteazer is a girl. :-)

Reminds me of when I called a pair of kittens This and That [I was in
my teens at the time, OK? :-)].
I also once had a pair named Lost and Found [my uncle tagged them with
that nickname and it stuck :-)].

Given that two kittens together are such mischief makers, I recommend
Hawkeye and Trapper, after the two characters on MASH.
