I just got a phone call from Grace. She asked me to post that two year old Eve was killed this afternoon by someone backing up in their driveway. Grace is in shock and having a hard time handling it. She said if anyone wishes to send flowers, they can be sent to: Hixson Brothers 2701 Military Hwy Pineville, LA (318) 640-1678 under the name Hannah Eve Oneal The Funeral will most likely be on Wednesday. If anyone has messages for her, post them and I am certain she will read the group when things calm down. If you have any other questions about it, email me, and I will try to get an answer. It seems so recent we shared the news that Eve was expected. The entire group it seemed hung out on line the day she was born to await her arrival. We can only share your pain in such a tragedy. Sam Nash It's hard to shake off the horror of what happened. I dreamt last night that I witnessed the accident in my own driveway. It's terrible to lose a child, but the manner of this must be especially traumatic. I hope that Grace and her family is all right. A few years ago my daughter was in the front yard with her children as their dad got into the truck to back out of the drive. Before my daughter could even react, right there in front of her eyes, my granddaughter (Alexis, the middle child, who was 5 at the time) ran behind the truck and was run over by the back wheel. We are extremely lucky that all she suffered was a broken leg. I can only imagine the horror that could have been had the worst happened - watched by her mother and caused by her father. As it was my daughter and SIL had terrible nightmares for months afterwards and my SIL had a hard time dealing with the guilt even though it was not his fault and he could not have prevented it (my daughter, standing only a couple of feet away, couldn't prevent it). Things like this can happen so quickly and unexpectedly, it makes you realize how fragile life can be. Again (and still), sending love, purrs, tears, and condolences to Grace and her family. I come to regard this group as a sort of family and it hurts to lose someone, but I can't imagine the pain that Grace is going through.
