Last night Stirling found himself a little chip of firewood and had a
fantastic time playing with a chip of firewood he found. He was batting
it around, racing it across the room, pouncing on it then letting it go
again. Who would have thought a 2" piece of wood could be such fun?
Then he batted it in my direction. So I casually gave it a little flick
and sent it back towards him.
The sight of that little woodchip turning on him was just too much.
Stirling just turned tail and hid under the piano. Poor puss!

He can dish it out, but he can't take it!

Helen,
Now you'll have to make retribution for spoiling his fun.
Rosie suggests lots of cuddling and Cinder suggests a couple of shrimpies.

I asked Stirling what he really wanted and his reply was to shove his
nose in my armpit several times. His brain works in mysterious ways,
even for a cat.

Ah, yes, the nose in the armpit move. I know it well. It's one of Rosie's
specialties, especially when I'm in a sleeping position.

TuTu gets good mileage out of a bobby pin if she finds one on the bathrom
floor. MLB
