Cheryl - 17 Aug 2004 02:25 GMT I bought a set of glasses and Shamrock took over the box. He marked it all up with his face scents and re-marks it every time Bonnie tries to get in it. She got in. Once. Only once. Shamrock doesn't like to share. ;)

Soooo cute to see her nose peeping out of it. Of course it's usually occupied by the kittens playing "king of the box" ;)

Prissy had a phase where she insisted on meatloafing in a particularly narrow shoebox, even though at first her sides stuck all out of the box when she did it. Eventually the box got all bent outwards on the sides.

Eventually the box > got all bent outwards on the sides I've also noticed there are Box Rules in households with cat and dog playmate. It seems to be understood fully by both species.
The party of the first part, hereinafter called Dog, may chase the party of the second part, hereinafter called Cat, throughout all areas except as mentioned. If Dog tags Cat, they may wrestle, although the output is not predetermined and Dog undertakes the activity at Dog's risk.
If, during the course of the chase, Cat goes into any structure that can be construed as Box, including, for example, the bottom of a soft drink can carton cut almost to the bottom, Cat becomes immune to tag. An invisible wall projects upwards to the ceiling from the vertical edges of Box. Dog may communicate with Cat through these walls, as long as Dog does not touch Cat.

It seemed to have the same rules as Howard's box, because no matter who was chasing who, when the chasee runs into the kitchen, the chaser stops at the threshold. Shadow used that rule to his advantage many many times because he hated being chased. :)

But you see, now it won't be a nice gift from Meowmy but rather a proper response from a slave to her master.

Gotcha. lol After he took over that box I thought to myself "self, you could make a box that looks prettier than that and it would fit the decor better." Then self got wise and realized a made box wouldn't be as much fun as a found box and self scrapped the idea.

Totally. It's the reason I won't spend $$$$ on a fancy cat bed for Stinky (although I think it would be really cute). Why bother when a cardboard box charms him like magic?

My cats take turns sitting in a new box, it seems to go in the pecking order, too. Antonio likes to eat cardboard, so he spends more time chewing the sides than sitting in it. I don't think he injests it, he just shreds cardboard and paper by pulling on it with his teeth. It's weird.

And, usually he's curled up a little more when he's in "his box", but this time he had his head sticking out one end and his bum sticking out the other, so I had to grab a picture of it.

I love that tummy! It's so rubbable, but Casey doesn't always understand why mommy has to rub his belly when he shows it, he sometimes likes to rabbit-kick me, but it's ok, it's worth it for that cute belly.
Thanks for your welcome.

> BTW...I've been lurking about a month..first post... :) Welcome! What's your silly boy's name, by the way?

My little man's name is Casey.

Thank you for the sweet commens about my little man, I also think he's quite beautiful, and if I were a cat, I think I'd be quite taken with him too.....mind you...as a hoomin, I think I'm probably more taken with him then I would be as a cat. :)
Thanks for your welcome!
