Hi all,
I just wanted to tell y'all my great news!!!
My SO and I just finished building our dream home, which meant I got
to move out of my apartment and into this huge house. Well, I had an
outdoor kitty that I looked after, Momma Kitty. She showed up on my
doorstep shortly after I moved into the apartment (circa 1997) with 5
kittens. I got all 5 kitties homes, got her spayed and, since she
seemed feral, released her back at the complex. I made sure she had
food and water and just looked after her the best I could. I loved to
watch her clean up after a meal. She was very particular and took
great pains with her toillette!
Much to my suprise, she stayed around and seemed to enjoy my company.
She never let me touch her and all attempts to trap her (to update her
shots) were met with disdain. She would go nowhere near the trap and
just looked at me as if to say "You gotta be kidding....I know what
THAT thing is!"
Anyhow, I was in a real quandry when it came time to move. No way
could I take her, even if I could trap her. There are coyotes around
here and to move her would be tantamount to just dumping her out in
the country. That wasn't going to happen. I just didn't know what to
do.
I was talking to a friend of mine (who I met through her cat Goblin!)
and she said she would be willing to see if she could get M.K. into
the trap. Well, 4 weeks later, SUCCESS!!! My dear Momma Kitty is now
in her new home. I support a local no-kill shelter and, after I told
Karen the story, she unhesitatingly agreed to take her and work with
her and take care of her. and it seems Momma Kitty may not be
completely feral as I thought. Karen came back from shopping and
found M.K. lounging on her bed!! A head scritch has been accepted and
flea medicine applied with minimal wounding to applier! I'm just so
relieved and happy I could just jump for joy and cry!!!!
I knew y'all would understand!!!

Congratulations! I'm really happy to read this. After all the sad news
recently it's good to hear a success story.
