Don & Lisa - 15 Aug 2004 20:08 GMT
After almost two years of fighting hyper thyroidism and rapid heart beat, Fireball finally gave up. He got a UTI, I got antibiotics and that cleared up quickly, however, Fireball just gave up. He completely quit eating. I force fed him on Thurs., I tried everything. Fri. was my birthday, and I went to bed crying. I knew I would have to make a decision. Sat. I tried raw hamburger, nothing. I took him to the emergency vet. I didn't want him to have to wait until Mon. The vet. was great, she even gave me a hug and said that it sounded like he was telling me that it was time. Eighteen years ago I saw him being born, and yesterday, I saw him leave. Fireball loved me more than any cat I have ever had. He would follow me where ever I went and just look at me. I miss my tiny boy.

Thanks, Lisa

Lisa, I am so very sorry for your loss. Fireball loved you so much and
you loved him back as well. Letting go is the hardest, but most loving
decision one can make for a furbaby.
He'll be well taken care of at the RB by the rpca gang until you come
pick him up again.

I am so sorry about your baby-cat. He was devoted to have stayed by you
for so long, and lives now without suffering in the place where it is
always summer and catnip is always abundant.

I am so reminded of my Fritzie when I read your story. I got him as a
tiny kitten, barely six weeks old, and he crashed and burned with sudden
liver failure just 2 months before his 19th birthday. So you have a
sister here, believe me. Please accept the condolences from me and Hubby
and our furbabies, and lots of purrs.

He took your love with you and is now spreading it all over Heaven.

Peace and blessings,

Baha

I'm sorry you've lost Fireball - a deep bond with an animal is something
special and is a big loss. He sounds like he was a great cat, who had a
good long life with you.

It's funny really, it didn't fit him in the least. His momma was a pure
white barn cat. She had three kittens, one red, one white, and one blue. It
was amazing. He was the red one. He hurt his leg and she left with the other
babies, and he couldn't follow. So that is how I got him. From day one, he
really didn't do anything but follow me around and just love me. I used to
tell my DH to look at Fireball's face, that is how he should look at me. He
was my love bug. I really miss him.

Head butts all around, Lisa.
