Sad Anniversary

It was one year ago August 10 that Prissy went to the RB at age 19.
It's hard to believe that it's been a year already.  She was a petite
cat and was my "child" for most of her life. She was never exposed to
cats except going to the vet and I believe she thought of herself as a
human being.  She was very talkative and would actually answer me back
when I said something to her. I loved her innumerable quirky
behaviors, like the way that when I would come home she'd scoot ahead
of me trying to guess which room I was heading for so she'd be there
to jump into my lap the very instant I sat down. Or the way she'd sit
upright next to me on the bed purring when I was getting dressed and
reach out and pat me on the arm with one of her front paws. Or the way
she couldn't stand being kept out of a room when she could hear me in
there doing something that could possibly use her "help"-I'd look up
to see that dark paw slid under the door trying to pull it open. :-)

The house felt so empty after Prissy passed. I can still remember the
numb feeling I would get coming home when she wasn't there at the door
to greet me.

I adopted Kona and Sebastian a few months later and they're both
wonderful cats. All three of them are different from each other and
somehow the fact that I still miss Prissy terribly has nothing to do
with loving and appreciating Kona and Sebastian now-it's like the
feelings operate on a different wavelength.

The anniversery of Prissy's passing got me motivated to post some
pictures of her and the two guys I have now.  Unfortunately, most of
my pictures of Prissy are on paper; I need to get them scanned in
sometime.  I did find one pretty good digital picture of her which I
have posted.  All of my pictures of Kona and Sebastian are digital and
I was able to find some pretty good pictures of them.

RB anniversaries are always sad. Time allows you to remember more of the
happy times instead of the good-bye.

You have written a wonderful tribute to Prissy.  She lives on in your
memories and always will.

I love the "I have a new friend" photo.  Great timing, to get that one!

Prissy was a very pretty little girl. The boys are very handsome, and I see
an upside-downy head picture there, too! I LOLed at the "Synchronized
watching".

The photo of Prissy is marvelous! I hope the joys of remembering what a good
life she had with you will help you through this sad time.  Your other two
kitties are also beautiful!
Purrs,
Christine

{{{{{hugs}}}}}  I know that first anniversary can be really hard.  I'm
glad you've posted a photo in Prissy's honor.

It's always difficult to remember the passing of a loved animal and you
never stop missing them. Figaro went to the bridge thirty years ago and
I still miss her.
