The message posted below was copied from rec.pets.cats.community. The
poster, xeroxfive@yahoo.com, has a cat suffering from hepatic lipidosis.
I posted a reply to the r.p.c.c, but those of you with direct experience
might want to furnish more detailed information for him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 9 year old cat whose has been treated for hypertropic
obstructive cardiomyopathy for 5 years. He recely lost 1/3 of his body
weight relative quickly. After a few tests at 2 different vets, they
believe it's fatty liver.

He's going in tomorrow for a biopsy and possible feeding tube. I'm
terribly worried and really don't know what to do but go ahead with
the treatment. I'm afraid the anesthesia may kill him because of his
heart trouble but with out it, he'll surely die.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? Any advice on successful
treatments?

thanks!!

I have no advice to give unfortunately, but Soncek sends his strongest purrs
and I send my best wishes for the kitty to recover completely,

I'm afraid I don't know anything about this, but we are sending
healing purrs for the kitty and soothing purrs for his human.
