I was sitting here, reading all the news in the group, when I heard plastic
rustling. Now, this usually means someone is in trouble, so I got up to see
what was going on.  I saw several of my crew sitting around the futon, and a
lump wiggling under the plastic cover I bought for it.  They had found a
small (at least it was small last night!) hole and worked at it till it was
large enough to get in.  The lump was Gabe, and and I spent several minutes
getting him out, and then trying to prevent the others from climbing in! I
ended up flipping the futon over so they can't get to the hole, and will buy
another cover later today.  Gabe immediately jumped back on the futon and
started looking for his 'hidy hole'! Tough luck, little one! <Grin

Lots of people have that problem with box springs on beds, I know I
used to with one cat. A suggestion I was given was to put a fitted
bed sheet on the underside of the box spring to cover up the flimsy
fabric around the wood supports. Not sure if it would work on a
futon, though.

Yeah, after finding a small shredded hole on the underside of my
mattress from Imp, I put a fitted sheet on the underside of the
mattress.  It totally works.
