Purrs for those in need. I'm sure cattle and people aren't the only
ones in need of rescue!

Indeed. And thanks for the heads-up. My niece's partner is a Kiwi - I do hope
his family & friends out there are okay.

Hi Guys, yes we are OK here, had a lot of rain over the weekend but no
flooding, the area affected is about a 3 hour drive from us (Bev and I) I do
have friends that have been evacuated from their home, they went to a cat
show in the neighbouring town on the Saturday and couldn't get back to their
place, the whole street had been evacuated, fortunately some other friends
of theirs had gone to their house and removed all the their cats/kittens to
safety, there is still a civil emergency in place and some people will not
be allowed back to their homes until later on this week, the bad news is
that more rain is predicted for later on today - on top of the floods there
have been a swarm of earthquakes to contend with, two woman have died in
separate accidents, one washed away by a mud slip and the other when a tree
fell on her car. My daughter Tracey lives in the area but is not affected by
the floods, only the earthquakes (her cat is not happy about the earth
moving!!)
Thanks for the concern.

Felix wishes me to inform you he agrees with your grandcat. :-) [We
live in California, and he's experienced a few quakes. Doesn't
approve.]

Lois has given an update and I also thank everyone for their concern.
Kitties spent the whole weekend inside staring at the scary torential
rain outside.   They were not prepared to get a drop of rain on their
soft little bodies.   Even Fluffy refused to go outside for essential
matters.  Being an outside cat she hates a litter box and did it on the
kitchen floor!!!!!!   Naughty Fluffy.  However she is so beautiful and
loving I forgave her instantly.   One and three quarter weeks to go
until the holiday.  Kay has been around to get all the instructions on
how to look after the kitties.   When she heard how naughty they were
she laughed and said "she had changed her mind about coming" lol.   Bet
she will have some stories to tell when we get home!!!

Lois is coming around for lunch today and we are going shopping this
afternoon for odds and ends.
