(Taylorsville, IN) - Two teens are facing charges for torturing 3 kittens.

That's according to our news gathering partners at The Republic in Columbus.

It happened May 31st at a grain elevator in Taylorsville.

One of the kittens was burned to death, another died after being cut.  The
third was found alive, but hanging from a pole with burnt fur and whiskers.

Police say about 60 bags of grain feed had also been ripped open, and a
telephone smashed.

The 15 and 14-year-old boys have confessed.

It would be nice now if they got a *real* punishment.

Little bastards.

Couple-a serial killers in the making.  Anyone remember when boys just got
into trouble by throwing toilet paper on trees in someones yard or trying to
knock over an outhouse on Halloween?  What the hell has gotten into kids
these days? (huge sigh)  I think these kids should have done to them what
they did to the kittens.  I have other creative suggestions but since this
is a family ng I will not mention them.

I'm afraid so.  Every once in awhile when some dope asks me why I care
so much about cruelty to animals when people have so many problems, I
always think, "How wonderful do you think these people who are cruel
to animals, are going to be to their fellow humans?" :P

I just hate to harangue about this, but could we please put an abuse warning on
stories like this one. I realize what the OP meant by "Good News" but if I'd
known the copy involved description of kittens being burned, hung, etc. etc.
I'd have skipped over it. Thanks.

Amen.

I can no longer watch documentary's on wild animals because they
always put lots of footage of animals killing each other, I know
this happens, but I dont want to watch it thank you, it just means
I have to miss watching these beautiful animals especially the big cats
so I couldn't bear watching *alleged humans*killing and torturing the
small ones.   Jean.P.

Sorry about not putting in an "abuse warning" - will do so next time!

And Jean - I *loved* that remark about "alleged humans" - made me chuckle.

Kreisleriana <kreisleriana2@yahoo.com> had some very interesting
things to say about Re: Good news:

It *is* well documented that serial killers have a dismayingly high
incidence of animal abuse before they "move up" to human victims [says
the resident true-crime buff]. I've never seen stats on the
pathologicals who abuse animals, but stop short of humans, but I
suspect it's VERY bad. :-(

Maybe I can add this into the subject to warn off others who don't care for
this sort of reading along with their cat anecdotes.
