Jeanne, I wonder what line your parents are on. We are on Holland
America "Veendam" leaving Vancouver on Sunday 8th August. Wouldn't it
be fun if we met up!
Lisa, Don't worry about B. & C and FSP. They are in the very best of
hands. My pal Kay (ex slave of Ollie) is coming to live in our house
while we are away. She has already been around to chat to the gang and
ask about their preferences. She is on her own, between houses and cat
mad!!! I suspect they will be their naughty selves, completely
pampered and will have shifted their allegiances completely to her when
we return. I still have wonderful memories of our trip when we met you
and Lena :)
Joy, I can't find any mention of Valdez in our schedule, darn!! Would
have loved to have met you. Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway are the cruise
ports. Anchorage, Denali National Park, Fairbanks, Chena, seem to be
the overland bit.

Aw, dang. They're also on Holland American (I don't have their
itinerary right now, so I don't know the ship), but are going the
opposite route - leaving from Alaska on 13 August, sailing to
Vancouver.
Maybe you'll run into each other on the docks <g>

I'm sure you'll love the trip. I went on a cruise tour a couple of
years before my mother moved to Valdez, and we covered most of those
same places. I wasn't too impressed with Fairbanks, but I loved the
rest. Most of the cruise ships used to stop at Valdez, but for some
reason they have stopped doing so.

Hi Joy - I just did a search on rec.pets.cats and found and answer
from you to one of my posts back in 1998!! Looks like we're both
old-timers, although I've been away for most of that time.
Your reply to a post was...
"Is there any kind of cat that isn't okay? <G>"
I guess that sentiment still holds true for you, as it does for me.

We have been here a long time, haven't we? <G>
Yes, that sentiment definitely still holds true.
