I was telling my co-workers about the precious persian this morning and how
I felt it was somehow fateful when I saw her when my supervisor walked in
and said "My mom's 17 y.o. siamese died".  I mentioned about this cat but
not suggesting she tell her mom about it or anything (you know, it takes
different people different times to adopt again). My super was agonizing
over what to do, and maybe she should go get her another Siamese (which I
did NOT think a good idea since that seems like "replacing" a loved pet).  I
didn't really even think that my super heard me about the cat I saw. Then
after she went to lunch I got a call from her. She had called her mom and
mentioned this cat I saw and her mom went nuts and wanted to talk to me. So
she called me and she was really ready to just go get her. Long story short,
Nina is now ensconced in my supervisor's mothers house with two doting
retirees who will pamper her and take her with them in their RV on trips and
comb her while watching tv.  I think this will work. They can take her back
to my vet if it doesn't work out, but I don't see how it won't. These are
people that constantly adjusted doses of phenobarbitol for their aging dog
for years and immediately turned around in their RV, even if they were as
far away as Florida if the Siamese acted homesick. Can we say Pet People??
Even *if* Nina needs pills it won't bother them and honestly, I bet she
didn't have much company like she will with this couple. Yeah.!!!!!!

Awww Karen. That sounds so good. I hope it works out, they sound perfect. The
little kitty sounds so sweet and dainty. I bet she's "polite", too, like Biskit
and Betty.

Great news!  With all the cats that we've heard of lately passing to
the Bridge, it's nice to see a spot of good news.  Nina should have
every chance of developing a happy and lasting relationship with this
wonderful sounding couple.

Nice to see how well things worked out for the little Persian!

There's been entirely too much sad news here lately; I'm glad to hear
some good news!!

Go Nina.  Sounds like they have plenty of time for her, and like a kitten
might not adjust all that well to their lifestyle anyway.

Hope its a match.

Congratulations, it sounds as if she will have the purrfect home!  Best of
wishes to kitty and her new slaves.

Hooray! I hope all parties will be happy with the arrangement.  It certainly
sounds as if Nina will get loving and devoted care from her new humans. And
what more could any kitty want than a home and a devoted staff?

Heh... Just as a sidelight, over the weekend before I knew about this
Persian, I went to a movie with a friend. As the credits rolled, I spied the
name "Nina" and thought "Perfect." It's a good "kitten" name that will also
suit the dignity of an adult cat, and so my little TK is now also a Nina.
I'm sure though that TK will always be one of her nicknames, though. And
yes, she gets cuter by the hour. =o)

Also nin~a (how do you get that over the n?) means little girl in
Spanish.  Very appropriate.

Nina being the one who sucks her tail?

Sounds like she landed on all four paws right into the lap of luxury.
:-)

Congratulations to all parties.

Some cats love to travel.  Misty did quite well in a camper shell on a
pickup with a sliding rear window so she could ride either in the
front or back.  That girl traveled through twenty-two states with no
problems (well except hiding up in the seat springs sometimes when we
would look for her in the truck -- those were technically our problems
though).

I think a lot of it is how they're introduced to concept of going for
rides. Just look at my Sammy. I've told before how I introduced her
slowly to going for rides, and now she seems to really enjoy our
outings. About the only problem is that after 15 minutes or so she
gets bored and naps until we get to wherever we're going.
