Thank you!  It was a funny day in the Stinkyverse.  Men came in to do
things around the house.  They moved things around, put white stuff on
the walls, messed around in the bathroom, and made the upstairs pretty
smelly.  I love it when people come in and mess around in here, it's
very interesting, so I helped the men a little while, but they didn't
answer any of my questions!

Mommy and grandma didn't want me to get the white stuff on me
(neither did I, that was making the smell).  I smelled a nice smell
downstairs, so I left the men, and went downstairs, and Grandma was
eating cherries out of a bowl!   I jumped up on the little table, and
tried to take a cherry, but Grandma grabbed the bowl, and put it on
her other side.  How silly!  I just jumped up on the other side, and
started rummaging around in the bowl to find the very best one.  Then
Grandma grabbed the bowl, and held it in front of her, and sort of
bent over around it.   I tried to get to them, from one side, and then
the other.  She looked so silly!  Cherries must be really important--
but she eats them!  Didn't she ever try batting them around the floor?
They're the best for that!  And grabbing them by the tail, and
whipping them around, and flinging them across the room, so that they
bounce???  The best!  

The men are gone, but the upstairs is still smelly.

I will answer your reasonable question.  The one who named me Stinky
was not really mom or grandma, but the big boss cat, who already lived
here (who was really quite little!), Mimi.  For weeks after I came to
live in the house, Mimi would say over and over again "Why did they
bring that stinky little kitten home?"  So after a while, it stuck.  I
really was a bit stinky when I first came home-- I hadn't had anything
very nice to eat lately, and what I left in the litter box at first
smelled pretty bad!  I am just not the type to get offended easily. ;)
I was happy to be here, eating nice things, sitting in laps, sleeping
in beds, and getting fussed over, and nobody ever said it in a mean
way  (except Mimi, and even that sort of tapered off ;)).
