Until the bladder surgery, even with special UTI dry food, Persia was losing
a lot of weight. I was very concerned; I wasn't used to seeing her ribs and
her hip bones as she walked (still regally) away from me.
Since the surgery (to remove the bladder stones and benign cyst) and the
introduction of this (expensive!) canned Hill's x/d food, within a week I
noticed she was filling back out. She now looks like a healthy cat and when
I pick her up she does not feel "fragile" like she did before the surgery.
In fact, I have to describe how she feels when I pick her up as "solid".
She seems to be happy; plays a lot. Killed a box! Attacked my arm this
morning when I was moving it in my sleep without being aware of it;
thankfully didn't kill my arm!
Since I'll have to board her again if I go to upstate NY mid-week, the
timing is perfect for her post-surgery check up. I'm sure I'll hear she's
more than well on the road to recovery. Now if I can just continue to
afford this food. I've managed to find the stuff online for less than the
$28 they charged me, but now Persia seems more interested in her old dry UTI
formula. Hill's does make a dry x/d formula. I may have to order some of
that and do the occasional supplement with the canned.
But overall she seems to be doing very well. Of course the vet will have
the final say on that.
Thanks for everyone's purrs. You all have *my* purrs for whatever reason
they may be needed.

That is WONDERFUL she is doing so well, continued purrs for a complete
recovery so she may defend you from those nasty boxes.

Thanks. Yeah, those boxes have this way of showing up on my back doorstep.
I need defending; I cannot dig a moat! I think the USPS has some regulation
against that. :D
